Fighter pay

Why do so many fighters want to complain about the pay when they either knew what it was coming in or should have done a little research and known?  I understand and agree that a lot of fighters should be compensated for what they do but none of them are forced to do this for a living.  Just because you spent more money on a better camp and better coaches doesn't always equal more money earned.  Just like plenty of other people spending more money on better clothes or working at home after hours to perfect their craft hoping they can make it translate to higher pay it all comes down to your bargaining power and negotiation.  Let's stop comparing fighters, even the top tier ones but especially mid level UFC fighter to NBA and NFL players.  It's apples to oranges, they are not even close to the same.  Walk around on a Sunday tell me how many people are talking about NFL players, wearing their jerseys, and watching them play 17 or more weeks a year.  Now compare that to walking around Vegas on a fight night it's not even close so stop saying you should be paid the same or even close.  If you got into a job field that has an established bad pay scale and you know is going to give you head trauma then who is to blame?  I am not trying to bash all fighters just the ones that have an inflated self worth worrying about how they should be making way more money when they should be trying to fix this "independent contractor " crap and getting better health care.

Since you are making the comparison to pro sports, keep in mind that the pro athletes in bigger sports get half of the revenue. If the UFC did that the fighters would be much better compensated. Do you really like seeing the UFC continue to grow fat on these guys blood sweat and tears? Don’t you see how it could be a little more equal?

Been saying this for years.

Getting rich off being a fighter isn’t a right. It’s a privilege.
