Fighter Refusing Fight re Fighter Missing Weight

What happens when a fighter refuses to take a fight with an opponent that misses weight?

Diego sends out a tweet about "Gomi better not complain about him missing weight because he lost 24k due to it".

Two different points/questions.

First how many lbs is a fighter going to miss by before someone refuses? Can you imagine a main event being cancelled do to this? I think the 25% taken from a fighter needs to be a little more harsh maybe then guys and more so the women will take it allot more serious.

Secondly, Diego needs to stfu. His much money would he of lost if Gomi refused to the right do to him missing weight? Phone Post

Its gonna be a larger difference than 2 pounds in the cage tonight

I know of a fight at 155 where the guy came in 13 lbs over weight.

If Diego loses tonight, he might possibly be cut. In the past, missed weight losing = termination. Phone Post

Refusing a fight is typically used to make the guy struggle to lose additional weight further taxing his body. I have also seen it used as a way to get extra money from the promoter.

Diego's the poster child for exciting fights. He'll get fined, but I really doubt they cut him, even on a loss. Phone Post

Simple answer.

The fight is cancelled.

That happened at middleweight in the UFC last year Phone Post

Fight cancelled. Fighter making weight gets show money !!!

Rarely happens because of the 10% penalty plus a little more purse money for the fighter making weight.

I have seen 2 cases where the fighter that made weight refused to fight the overweight opponent. In both cases, the fighters that made weight WERE paid the show purse, but did not receive a % of the opponents' purses (I assume) because they did not actually fight.
