if your favorite fighter post Ronda's SI cover, rest assured he probably doesn't care, he's just being a PR outlet
zebers3 -Thanks for posting guys. Voted you 3 up. If someone could post dave shollers tweet please.
Too slow on that one haha but I don't really see anything wrong with that. If someone in my department wins some prestigious award we are all notified and asked to join in the congratulations.
Love seeing UFC athletes rally around other UFC athletes' success! https://t.co/nIApPVSABM

Yeah I see that now haha definitely seems a little forced. But the sentiment itself isn't unreasonable. Some may not have known and legit wanted to congratulate her.
But yeah, many will join just because they were told too.

This, normal business practice across the board.
Anyone getting but hurt over it is probably jealous that she got the cover. Or they want the Roger Huerta one, which I am sure had its own fan base.....

In your department?
Yeah they tell you to show up for cake, sign the card or go up and congratulate them.
Maybe you do so on FB.
In this case?
It's a company seeking to use the phony congratulations tweets in order to give Ronda a phony star presence on Twitter.
Big difference.
It's like if you do a stand up comedy show and are told to ask family and friends to come support.
Versus a bringer show where you HAVE to bring 5 or more paying customers in order to perform.
It looks like a packed comedy club.
But you basically paid to perform versus getting to perform because that many paid to see you.
This is a big smelly work getting these fighters to make it appear bigger than it is.
Fighters are concerned about their pay and Reebok.
Ronda on a cover don't make their day better or improve the sport or their potential income.

Obviously it's not the exact same scenario. I'm just saying it's not uncommon for your employer to notify you when one of your peers is awarded with somethiing significant in your field. In my case, I get an email and can choose to congratulate that person through email or in person.
In their case, they receive a message and are asked to congratulate Rousey on her achievement. I'm sure every fighter doesn't have Ronda's phone or email to contact her, and basically every MMA story starts on twitter. That is their medium for these types of things, so they are asked to use it.
Everyone can just ignore it if they want, or they can choose to congratulate her. Everything can be spun in an incredibly negative way if you want, but I'm just saying I don't see the big deal here.
And sure they wouldn't mind the PR from some fighters joining in on the congratulations. They're in the business of promoting the sport and their fighters. And you could also argue that any MMA fighter achieving this sort of success is helping to grow the sport.
LoL @ anyone upset over this
Hello,
Have any of the female fighters congratulated Ronda?. I know Paige did., her tweet was retweeted by the UFC Twitter account...anyone else? I hope they are all out training and will tweet later.
You had to assume they had people do
This
well that kiss assing lost me as a fan.
So, UFC wanted Ronda's cover to get as much exposure as possible, so they asked their fighters for a retweet, so that each fighters fans would see it, too.
BFD. it makes perfect sense. That's how companies are supposed to use Twitter.
