Fighters Who Never Got The Respect They Deserved?

Who are some now retired fighters who never got got the respect they deserved from the fans. Not necessarily just fighting ability but also personality. I would say Guy Mezger. Dude was a world beater who was the victim of some of the worst decisions in MMA. Phone Post 3.0

shit I was gonna joke about Nick Diaz, but that description you just used for Guy sure fits for Nick too.

Rich Clementi/ Mac Danzig were true, well rounded, professional fighters in every sense of the word Phone Post 3.0

Keith Jardine Phone Post 3.0

Not retired, but Bisping!

Yes I know I am a kiss ass Phone Post 3.0

I'll agree with Mac Danzig. I'll admit too that I was one of those fans who didn't care for him at all for a long time after the way he came off on TUF. But, after seeing a bit more out of him in interviews and the like the years since I honestly feel like that was an error on my part to judge him that harshly for a reality show designed to bring out drama in people.

I think balanced against the guys whole career that was a blip. Phone Post 3.0

This might sound stupid but GSP.
I find teh UG has nicer things to say about him now that they realize what a gem of a martial artist he was.

Personality and all, he didn't need attention seeking headlines to sell fights.

RESPECT. Phone Post 3.0

Bustamante

Big Cat

What a lot of people forget is Mac's prime was in KOTC, by the time he got to the ufc he had mileage on him. Phone Post 3.0

I'm gonna go with my good mate Elvis Sinosic.
Why?
Because he fought a who's who in MMA for a decade from the mid 90's to the mid 2000's.
Sydney, Australia in the mid 90's wasn't exactly a hotspot for mma.
Elvis had very limited resources compared to the majority of fighters he faced overseas. Sydney had plenty of tough boxers and kickboxers but the grappling scene was scarce although growing by the year. You'd be struggling to get a handful of BJJ blue belts together let alone purples or higher.
Wrestling was virtually non existent apart from a few individuals and groups.
He had around 20 fights and fought the likes of Tito Ortiz, Frank Shamrock, Evan Tanner, Babalu, Michael Bisping and Forrest Griffin amongst others.
While he has more losses than wins, he fought some beasts and showed that he belonged with victories over Jeremy Horn, Roberto Travern and Mark Epstein.
Plus he's humble. Always has time for fans and kids at mma events and grappling tournys.
and that is why i believe Elvis doesn't get the respect and reco (recognition) he deserves.

^in fairness he is loved around here (or at least was).

With good reason too. Phone Post 3.0

Jeremy horn dude had a ton of fights and was very well rounded.

Pat millitich sorry if I spelled his name wrong. Held the belt for a long time

Marco ruas dude was in my opinion mma's first complete fighter that had good ground and stand up.

Damian Maia best bjj in mma

Nate Marquardt dude has been in some wars. And was a king of pancrase plus strike force champ. Phone Post 3.0

Shit I'm sorry some of those guys, are still active. Phone Post 3.0

Marcus Davis.

The mist decorated boxer to successfully transfer to mMa, became a submission wizard, bought mMa to Ireland which started guy like Conor MacGregor training the sport.

Should be in hOf Phone Post 3.0
