several of the Kajukenbo guys had shirts with JKD & Kali emblems on it.
Jimmy even had a pullover with a distinct JKD emblem.
Are those Kajukenbo schools also JKD schools???

Went to a JKD school, and all I got was this lousy t-shirt!
lol
One of the trainers for the episode is John Bono who, as well as being under the Kajukenbo banner, was also certified by Larry Hartsell.
good info sled dog.
thanks!
i had a feeling they were accredited under someone.
Kajukenbo, first off I do not know the specific of this system. I believe the portrayal of the 1980 ego school was horrid. The large man, fancy GI, zz top beard and sunglasses in a abandoned building. C'mon... The late night back room brawling right out of a 80's karate film. Some of the stuff I thought was very interesting. The scenario training, the blender drill may have some application. I am friends with a person who is also high ranked in Kajukenbo WHKD branch of the system and his training doesn't mirror what I seen. The muscle shirt and do- rag guy egging on the final fight. too much for me. During the training I felt the elbow to the back showed a lack of control even when training for self defense an element of control should still exist. It wasn't the worst representation of an art from a human weapon/ fight quest shows but it definately wasn't the best.
I have done Kajukenbo for a few years, and if your WHKD friend does not recognise this stuff, maybe he spends too much time on the softer side of things.
Ya, it seems a bit much at times, but it is all for a good cause, besides , this is TV and you have to sell yourself on TV otherwise nobody takes you seriously.
That was a pretty interesting episode.
Sled Dog: "I have done Kajukenbo for a few years"
Understatement of the decade, oh 9th degree Kajukenbo professor!
