My wife decided to watch a ppv other than a Ronda ppv for UFC 187. She knows of fighters but isn't a fan at all but would love to watch some fights. So I came up with a list of 10 fights to convert her into a fight fan (thats her limit). Now I'm asking the UG to help me finalize this list.
-
Bonnar vs Griffin
-
Hughes v Trigg II
-
Frye vs Takayama
-
Liddell vs Ortiz II
-
Bigfoot vs Hunt
-
Henderson vs Rua
-
Silva vs Sonnen
-
GSP vs Serra
-
Hendericks vs Lawler
-
Jones vs Gusstafan
If you disagree with any: choose the fight you want to see on here, replace a fight on the list, and provide the reason (or story of the fight) to make it compelling enough to sell it.
Silva sonnen might bore her...until the last 30 seconds or so...
ramaham - Silva sonnen might bore her...until the last 30 seconds or so...
Silva and DC are her two favorite fighters. I see your point though.
UGCTT_REMEMBER MY NAME - Diaz vs. Gomi ...instead of Silva/Sonnen
Frank Shamrock vs. Phil Baroni ...instaed of GSP/Serra
Robbie Lawler vs. Melvin Manhoef ... more exciting than hendrix (x2) fight
I like the Shamrock fight a lot but the GSP upset is pretty big. Makes for a great story right?

Silva v griffen might be a good one then. All action and silva stiking dominance.
Ah, back when Rogan had hair lol
Barry v kongo?
Baroni v menne?
7titofan7 - Barry v kongo?
Baroni v menne?
Keep in mind I only get 10 fights. If those go in 2 have to come out
Sapp/Big Nog - to show that toughness and technique can overcome size and strength.
Hendo/Bisping - Because everyone needs to see that fight!
Kongo/Berry - To show what fighters are capable of coming back from.
Chan sung Jung vs Leonard Garcia
Nog and sapp was in the short list
If I really wanted to do it right, I would do a couple old school UFC fights, a couple Pride fights, then an update on what is happening now.
My list would not look anything like yours.
For example, the Tito/Liddell fight is not as valuable out of context. Granted, I'm sure you will be commentating the fights and building back stories...
If it were me the list would have a more goal oriented progression. I would want to include dominant performances, great comebacks, 1 or 2 long battles, and all types of finishes represented; G&P, submissions, KO, TKO stoppage, Decision, etc.
Of course thats just me. I used to make VHS highlight tapes of NHB and give them away to try and get people interested in the sport. I spent many hours making those tapes. LOL

One thing I would make a point of is trying to have fights on the list of current fighters, so she can "create a relationship with them" and actually want to see the fight. Cant do that with old retired guys.
This is an important point.
I would probably remove Liddell/Ortiz and GSP/Serra and add 2 of the ones mentioned above.
Of course, if you show too many Pride fights... she might get spoiled and not like the current UFC as much :D
onepunchJD - Short list?
Yeah I have a few fights that I was heavily considering putting on the list and that was one along with Aldo/hominick
