First live UFC event tomorrow! What should I know?

So it says prelims start at 330 and main card starts at 8, are things really that spread out or is the main card, as a fox card, tape delayed?

Anything else I need to know?

Pretty much fights start every half hour. Sounds like crap to be at live to be honest, so lots beer.

I haven't been to one live, but that's how the shows go on FOX and they just chuck prelims/commercials in when there are fast knockouts/subs.

Have fun though and report back with your experience. Phone Post 3.0

Good luck getting the cheap beer. Better get plastered at lunchtime and top up a few times during the event. Phone Post 3.0

All very positive so far! Phone Post 3.0

Thread is relevant to my interests...
I'm planning on going to UFC 175, my first UFC event...
I've heard that sitting too close is actually shit because u end up watching it on the screens anyway. So what is the best seats to get???

By the way man hope you hav a great time! Phone Post 3.0

It's freaking awesome! Fights do have that time frame but if there are some sort fights then then will put a break in between some fights. And yes the best seats are the 100
Level as the really expensive seats, the floor seats, it gets really hard to see at times but they do let you walk around and a lot of the fighters sit floor level so you get to go meet them all. That's what happened last time to me any way, I met Dana white as he came out to take pics with ALL and everyone of us. It was so awesome as I got to meet some big stars and get photos with them. I'll be there today too, I'm coming up from Naples! Phone Post 3.0

Use your time between fights wisely. On these FOX cards they roll the fights out quickly.

Have fun, enjoy the experience, and just hope the card delivers. I doubt you have anything to worry about with this one because the violence potential is very high. When you are at a show with great fights there's no sporting event like it. Phone Post 3.0

I agree with everything you just said. Best of all is you actually get to experience the fights live! Not many people can say they've done that in Florida Phone Post 3.0

Things you should know!
Well you paid to much money to watch a big screen. On a serious note take it all in man it's awesome. Have Fun!

I'm driving up from west palm in about 2 hours, my first UFC as well but I'm looking forward to it. I plan on getting loaded at lunch and smuggling in some jack so I can have a nice buzz going. I'm be the bearded bald guy screaming obscene shit in section 105 if I plan my drinks just right Phone Post 3.0

Looking forward to it. Phone Post 3.0

I'm sure the atmosphere will be alot better than ufc 169. Sat right behind a bunch of douchebags who knew nothing about mma. It was sad hearing this asshole scream Frankie Edgar the whole time. Oh he also fell asleep for 3 of the fights. All in all it was still a one of a kind experience and its worth going too. Phone Post 3.0

... You're going to be out of money really fast Phone Post 3.0

It's the same as most sports events tbh, mediocre view, lots of time between fights or plays, expensive beer.

The thing about a fox card is they will wait between fights for time slot purposes during the main card, while on ppv they don't have a time slot Phone Post 3.0

Your gonna have a blast my friend. But as above...I would sneak a pint in. Phone Post 3.0

It's fun once. I agree with I agree with some of the posters. If on was rich i would go and by cage side. Phone Post 3.0

The one difference between TV and In person is that you can seriously appreciate how fast the fighters are. I was on the floor and my view was not great, but I'm glad I went. Would go again, but to really watch the fights? You'll be looking at the big screen.

Oh and no commentary is probably the weirdest thing. Phone Post 3.0
