Big congrats ti Fi Muxlow from Townsville for her Gold, Gold, Gold in the Phillipines Jiu Jitsu Championships and No Gi Challenge over the weekend. Fi was in the country to meet up with Chris A (aka 'verywack') and to train with "Judo Steve". From what I'm told all matches except for one ended in a submission win for Fi. Great follow up to her Silver at the Pan-Pacs and Gold at the Qld Open. Fi has been off the BJJ comp scene for a while, doing Judo and Indoor rowing of all things?!(a few golds there as well) We are very glad to see her back in action again! Well done to Chris A as well for the Bronze and Silver, GO ADABAR!!
Thats the comp.
Well done Fi and Chris.
Good to hear you're out and about again Fi.
How was the standard?
Nice work Fiona!!!!
This might be a bizarre question, but does Fiona have a background in BMX Racing also, her name sounds familiar from when I was racing in the 1980's??? Pretty sure she won an Australian Title or similar on the bike years ago???
Kind regards,
Gerald.
I don't think so Gerald, but I will ask her. Just get set for all the BMX Bandit jokes to follow!!
Seriously though, I tried a bit of BMX racing myself when I was in my early teens. I can tell you now that on the BMX forums they probably have an injury thread going as well. It was tough!
Thanks Colin,
Yeah I lost a lot of skin and a few teeth racing BMX :) Great fun though!!!
Gerald.
congrats fiona! hope you enjoyed your time here in the philippines. i will be sure to payback the "slam guy" when i see him.
fiona was known as the "girl that won everything".
-Chris
Thanks Col Actually it was four golds, weight class and absolute on both days, Gi Saturday, No Gi sunday ;)
Standard was really good, both standup and on the ground.
Gerald the girl you are talking about is my cousin, Tai Lee,thnik she may have actually won a world title but dont qute me on that , ive only met her once when she raced BMX in my town, last i herd she was racing down hill mountain bikes.

Come on Fi!!!!! Don't you recognise a Norman May quote when you read one!!..."...and it's GOLD, GOLD, GOLD for Australia..." IYP:)
