For Jon, who has went to a decision eight times in his last eight outings, he is hoping for a finish against Penn and he knows just how to do it.
“I just need an impressive performance, more of myself grinding out beat downs and being more aggressive for the finish and just putting a lot of pressure on BJ.”
A win over Penn could signal a shot at the welterweight title between the winner of the future match up pitting Georges St. Pierre against top contender Jake Shields, though Fitch has his eyes set on the French Canadian.
“As you could see from the first fight, I gave him a better fight than anybody else”, said Jon speaking of his match against GSP at UFC 87, where both men walked away with ‘Fight of the Night’ honors.
“I have vast improvement in my stand up game, my Jiu-Jitsu game is off the charts right now, and I’m just a better fighter all around, and the second time that we match up I’ll beat him.”
