Who you got? Im a big fan of both. I know fitch gets shit on a lot, but I think this could be a epic fight. We know Diaz has the stand up advantage, however Fitch does have a good chin, decent stand up to hang, and also he is a great wrestler/ with great SUB defence, decent offence as well.
I just think its a close fight to call for real,
thoughts?
Fitch wins, but comes nowhere near a finish.
How many rounds?
AaronRodgerspackedmyDiameter - Fitch wins 80 to 90% of the time. Bad matchup for Diaz
that much you think?
id say 60/40 maybe, I do think he would be the favoured as far as matchup goes, but do think diaz has a decent chance at a late round tko or sub
Tad Ghostal - How many rounds?
give me your thoughts on both
AaronRodgerspackedmyDiameter - I do not think Diaz BJJ is good enough to sub Fitch, but there is always a chance. Fitch has face much better BJJ guys and not been subbed
hmm.. imo it doesnt get MUCH better bjj at WW than diaz. hes up there, but i know fitch is good as well.
Fitch would get his ass kicked from the top, ala mousasi king mo. And like lawal, he'd get the judges decision.

That's a dum say fitch vs Hughes or fitch vs story or the guy that beat story
3 rounds would be much closer, depending on how the judges score Diaz's scrambles. Even over 5 Fitch only has to win 3 and he's probably one of the few fighters Diaz couldn't wear out.
I am going /thread right here, right now.
There's no way of knowing who'd win because we have no idea how Fitch's top game would fare against Diaz's guard/bottom game.
I'd pick Fitch to fend off submission/sweep attempts & limit scrambles against majority of welterweights. But Nick Diaz's grappling is on another level.
He's submitted several high level BJJ Blackbelts in grappling matches, submitted Cyborg (a BJJ Blackbelt) within seconds of the fighting hitting the ground. And he neutralized BJ FRIGGIN PENN's top game.
Wrap your mind around that.
It's a tough call, but I am leaning slightly towards Diaz in a 5-rounder. I may very well be wrong.
But people who are picking Fitch outright have no idea of Diaz's grappling prowess, especially off of his back. I'd argue he has the best guard at welterweight.
All that matters in a matchup involving Fitch is how good that fighter is off of his back.
Nick Diaz is the best off of his back in the division because he has the long limbs, aggressive style of Jitz, and the cardio to fuel constant activities (i.e. submissions/sweeps and generation of scrambles). From that standpoint, Nick Diaz would fare far better than Penn against Fitch.
Now dont try to be play this silly game with me.
Diaz wins a 5 rounder. or a 3 rounder for that matter.
Fitch wins a decision whether it's 3 or 5 rounds.
AaronRodgerspackedmyDiameter - Fitch wins 80 to 90% of the time. Bad matchup for Diaz
lol. Does he? Does he really?
I think Diaz would tear into him like a rabid dog. I think it would be really really ugly and if it went to decision, it would be Diaz winning.
In fact, I will go on the record and say that I think Diaz could sub Fitch. I really do.
fitch fo sho

LOL Diaz is really really over rated grappler
^^ haterz gon hate its wat they do
RedVexx -Daverr - Fitch vs Diaz?
Fitch 30-27 or 50-45
Open bell take down every round and Fitch grinds out a decision.
Why on earth would you think that after he goes to a draw with Penn?
In a 5 round fight diaz wins. In a 3 round fight it's gonna be tough not to get wrestle fucked for 2 of them
AaronRodgerspackedmyDiameter - Fitch wins 80 to 90% of the time. Bad matchup for Diaz
I think this is accurate, Fitch is good at what he does and I think he keeps Diaz down the whole fight. Diaz wears his opponents out with tons of punches to the face. I don't see fitch standing in front of him. I think Fitch is also much stronger
The Diaz that was apathetic when taken down by Parisyan would lose every round to Fitch. Diaz 2.0, the one that expertly began to counter Penn with a scramble then got him off his back, would not. I would also think that Penn would happily train Diaz for GSP and/or Fitch, which is a major advantage.
The years in Strikeforce were gold for Diaz. Years of beating up lesser fighters has let him mature without taking years off his career (aside from his eyebrows, which is a major concern). He is a lot smarter now and also a lot stronger.
