Chuck Liddell
Big Nog
Matt Hughes
Wanderlei Silva
Randy Couture.
Five of the ten greatest MMA fighters of all time are winding down, on the road to retirement. Some may be only a fight away. Others on the list may have a few fights left, but are clearly past their prime or on the decline, and only have a little while left.
Who are you going to miss the most and what are your favorite moments from their careers?
Tito Ortiz
Obvious you must not be a true MMA fan to not mention a true legend like Sakuraba who is winding down far worse than all the guys you mentioned. Saku is a greater legend than any guy you have mentioned so I find it disrespectful that you are not mentioning him in your post.
The problem is Saku isn't winding down. He is done. Sad but true.
I thought of Sakuraba too but isn't he already done?
Doesn't belong on the list imo.
Good list.
Sak wound down a long time ago.

I agree with all but Randy.Beating the likes of Ricco Rodriguez doesn't cut it with me.UFC spoon fed him opponets for years, and he never faced tough competition like the other guys outside of the UFC.Randy might be 10th outta Best 10. maybe
Saku's body is completely worn down but he's not finished yet. He can still put on a good show in the ring given that he has the right opponent.

first off Ricco beat Randy,, & how bout wins over Liddel, Tito, Vitor twice, Rizzo twice, Mo Smith, Randelman, Gonzaga, Sylvia, etc. Randy has some tough losses but he defienetly fought tough competition & imo is one of the greatest mma fighters we have had, all the big fights he won coming in as the underdog is what made him so great to me.
Randy isnt top 10 of all time imo
I thought Saku was already retired? Is he supposed to be fighting again after he lost to Manhoef and Tamura in a row? Sad if they continue to drag his corpse out to exploit his popularity.

Quit trolling.
Belfort was considered unbeatable at the time, yet Randy TKO's him in his 3rd MMA fight.
Randy was also almost 34 when he STARTED in MMA.
You forgot Frank Shamrock!!
Nog
Silly to try and place Randy outside of any top ten MMA list. Easier, I think, to make an argument that he is the greatest, or more pointedly, the most important MMA fighter. You can list his accomplishments all day, but the important thing is this: He fought everybody that UFC (and others) put in front of him and beat most. He has been the face of the sport since it took off and deserves a lot of the credit. Fedor is more dynamic, Chuck more fierce, Anderson more dangerous but Randy led the way by honing his great wrestling skills into a complete MMA package and winning titles at two different weights.
I promise you this: nobody who has fought or trained with Randy puts him outside the top five.
valentijn overeem puts him outside the top 5
The most eminent candidates for being the 10 greatest MMA fighters ever so far are Fedor, Nog, Randy, Sakuraba, Wanderlei, Chuck, Hughes, GSP, Royce, Igor, and Anderson. Those 11 are really a cut above the rest.
And all of them except for Fedor, GSP, and Anderson, are no longer still at their peaks.
And guys like Royce, Igor, and Frank Shamrock - who at one point were all unquestionable top-5 all-time greats - are now far past their eras of dominance and are gradually being bumped further down the list as new all-time greats emerge.
Actually, the only other top-20 greatest-ever candidates who are still at their peaks are Hendo (although he too may be past his prime as he hasn't had a truly dominating performance in a couple of years), Rampage, and BJ.
(Although amazingly enough, Sakurai and Uno - who were the first true and undisputed World Champions of their divisions a decade ago - while no longer still at their Championship peaks, may still at least be relevant at the top level even today.)
But every other already-established all-time great from throughout MMA history is pretty much done.
Id put Barnett probably in the top 20 of all time and hes still in his peak
Royce is also top 10 imo
