How can you be so ignorant as to not know 150 lb fighter do not KO 250 lbs fighters? Name the fighter who have come up from welterweight to heavy and had any success. 99.9% don't even have any success going up 20 lbs.
pbf is great, but when he talks about going up in weight he is talking about 7-15 pounds, not 100.
James Toney went from middleweight (160) up to heavyweight successfully
"James Toney went from middleweight (160) up to heavyweight successfully"
Not only successful, but he actualy won a title. Interesting comparison skill wise, because arguably, PBF and Toney are the best defensive fighters on the planet......BUT.....Toney also weighs more or less 245 lbs at fight time, so he has sick skills, and weight. (He is kinda short though, so that is comparable.)
That being said, PBF 6 out of 10 fights.
What about we flip the equation and have a big brawler boxer vs a smaller MMA guy, like say......David Tua VS. Georges St. Pierre? That'd be an interesting street fight
ttt
Tank would go to the bar and wait for Mayweather to decide to fight. No fucking way in hell Tank would chase anybody around a football field.
When the fight actually happened, I really don't think Mayweather would have a chance of stopping the takedown.
"Thats the thing. They wont get a good shot in. Have you ever been to a real boxing gym? If not please take my advice and go train. Especially if your a big guy. Getting your ass handed to you by some skinny 18 year old amature would enlighten you"
Yes I have boxed myself. Not extensively or professionally but enough to know how hard a blow from different weight classees feels. No one 100 lb lighter than me(195 lbs) is going to KO me, and there is no way in hell he will keep me from a clinch and a takedown.
Have you ever boxed?? It doesnt sound like it to me if you dont understand the power differential of weight classes. OR maybe you have a really bad glass jaw, but Tank doesn't.
Review any of pbf's fights and find one where he isnt in a clinch at least 5 times before then end of the fight. First clinch against a skilled wrestler, or a semi-skilled wrestler at 250 lbs, and he is down.
For an example in his fight with Demarcus Corley, compubox has him landing 283 punches. 53 of those were jabs and 230 were power shots. Yet he still couldnt ko 140 lbs Corley. yet you think he is going to KO Tank? And btw, Corley landed 150 punches on the untouchable pbf.
Lastly, we are talking MMA ! Not boxing!
The 100 plus weight advantage is huge and seems like too much weight to overcome. It seems obvious to me, but everyone is entitled to their opinions. That's why I love the UG.
I'm starting to think that Boxers get a false sense of security that TMA guys are accused of. There are weight divisions for a reason.
Tank would probably be too slow to clinch Floyd, and he'd get hit with huge combos. I dunno if Floyd could KO him too quick but that would be a weird spectacle to watch.
I think Tank would win, no problem. But sometimes the little man gets lucky. Didn't 106-pound Michael Carbajal beat up a cop down in Tucson?
Only on here would a thread as stupid as this get so many views and replies.....SCARY.
what has tank?
"Yes i have boxed. I have a decent amature record but switched over to thaiboxing. And i have knocked out plenty of 240 lbs guys thinking their size means shit. If they have skill then of course they would crush me. But you compared one of the best boxers in the world to a club boxer. The difference in skill and athleticism is worlds apart. Size is only relevant when skill is involved. Otherwise it means nothing. As for Tank im sure he would try to take it to the ground. Unfortunatly he would eat a few punches on the way in. He also has zero heart so i would bet on Mayweather if Tank doesnt win instantly."
I was a striker for 10 years before my first BJJ humbling, and wrestled in HS. Trrained with a couple of Thai Boxers before I had even heard of it.
LOL. IF size doesnt matter, how do you think you would do in a fight against Shaquille O'Neal? He doesn't have any skill, jsut size. You think you would KO him?
So you could KO tank I guess. We arent talking about an accountant who balloons up to 250 on doughnuts. This is a guy who can bench 600 lbs and has shown he can take a serious beating from pro heavyweights.
How much experience does pbf have in stopping takedowns? You have failed to tell me which fights you have seen where pbf didnt end up in a clinch against his 140 lbs opponent before ko'ing him. How much experienc edoes he have stopping takedowns? His only skill is hitting people that are trying to hit him with fists above the waist only, and he still ends up in clinches all the time. You think it is easy to stuff a shot with zero wrestling experience? I guess you have never fought a wrestler. First clinch end of fight.
It really amazes me that anyone with MMA exerience thinks a 140 lb boxer is going to KO a guy like Tank on the first 2 shots on his way in.
IS this more a knock on Tank or worship of boxing? Do you think pbf would KO Matt Hughes? Or Sherk? Or the guy who stole you name?
In MMA, it wouldn't be close. However, in boxing Floyd could run around the ring till Tank gets tired.
There's weight classes for a reason you know.
LOL. Now I think I am being trolled by DSMN. I read this post of his on a thread about Rage Cage champ Manhoef.

He has no groundgame. He would get submitted at this point. He needs to step up his game. BTW nobody has dared to stand with Cyborg before. He beat the hell out of Shogun standing. Shogun took him down and won
LOL what kind of a ground game does pbf have? :) I bet it is way behind Manhoef's.

Very nicely done and that point is valid.
ttt and lol
never bet against tank in a bar, would you let anyone beat you up in your house?
floyd would drumroll on TAnks belly about 20 times before tank threw the first punch
