For you that bash Evan.......

You make me sick. I have known the guy for along time. (Way before Myspace) He's not someone I call a friend anymore but at the end of the day he has always given everything he has for you. For a guy that has never quit in a fight..its a shame that many of you have quit on him. Who knows what he had left? I think a guy like Evan has earned the benifit of the doubt. If not that.....at least some respect.

Who would win in Evan vs Saku....?

Too many assholes on the internet, but that's the way it is. Tanner is and will always be a legend of the sport and deserves tons of respect.

He'll always be up there with Genki Sudo in my mind because of who he is as a whole person

Has nothing to do with the person he is. It has to do with what he has done for you....you the fans.

Oh, OK. I take that back. Will he take Mastercard?

it's not time to hang up the gloves......it's time to train like Fedor, Wand and Courture plain and simple.

Huge fan of Tanner and still haven't gave up on him. This is still pretty disappointing though. I hope his career isn't over.

Feel so bad for him after watching his post fight interview. I would hate for him to give up fighting.

All respect to Evan Tanner what a great warrior and individual.

GB, Evan didn't fight a can tonight and he has nothing to be ashamed of. He appeared to be in great shape and didn't seem to gas. Kendall is a hand full for anyone.

How have you been?

Cindy

Evan is a stud! I hope he is not done, that guy has more heart than most. I'm looking forward to seeing him fight again, how about Quarry, his buddy?

ttt for Evan,

Hope all is wel GB shoot me an email when ya get a chance @ adambarnoneguerra@msn.com

29-28 Grove. Evan won round 3. Huge heart from a true champion. Screw the haters.

True DAT. I had the pleasure of meeting and training with Evan in 2001 when he and a few other fighters came up to Seattle to get ready for a big fight. In terms of temperament and coolness, both he and Randy Couture ARE YOUR STONER HIGH SCHOOL ART teachers (especially regarding their mannerisms and how they answer broad questions about life...), and neither of them got sick of annoying questions, whether they were from serious MMA students or internet fan boys with boundary issues.

Matter of fact, (and this is a LOONG story, so I'm giving the abridged version...) Evan Tanner pretty much saved my life while he was up here. A day of training and a talk afterwards led me to see my doctor about a few things, and BLAM-O: a few medical tests later, I found out that I had a tumor that very possibly would've killed me.

So yeah, I understand the "you just won, so you're awesome and I've always thought that" and "you just lost and/or beat my favorite fighter in a way which I cannot accept, so I hope you get typhoid and DIE!!!!!" sports fan mentality, but know this while saying cold, mean ass shit about Evan Tanner: he'd more than likely give you the shirt off of his back if you were in a pinch, even if he knew that you were the one who posted all the shit about him getting typhoid and dying.

tanner rules

i thought he did well for a guy who parties that hard, is 37, and gave up like 5 feet of reach

I don't see how anyone could bash Evan, the guy has shown he has such a big heart both in and out of the cage.

Kendall was a nightmare match-up for him.  It's just too much reach on the feet and too much leverage/height in the clinch for Evan to overcome.  I think Kendall deserves a lot of credit for continuously improving his game and fighting a smart fight.

The guy just had his 17th fight in the octagon & he doesnt belong there?

HAHA

Tanner is a total badass. Forget his entire career that makes him so.

Anyone that can take the type of beating Kendall gave him last night and keep pushing forward is deserving of respect.

Even if you'd never seen an Evan Tanner fight before last night, you absolutely have to respect the man for being able to keep pushing forward under heavy heavy fire.
