Former UFC fighter from US: my sport idol is Putin

Participant of the event FIGHT NIGHTS GLOBAL 74 (September 29, Moscow), Michael Graves in the first part of the interview about himself, dismissal from the UFC and features of the MMA.

- Michael, tell us about yourself. Where were you born, how did you get into sports, when you moved to MMA? Who was your idol in sports?

- Born in Toledo, Ohio. I started to play sports when I was 5 - started playing baseball. I started wrestling at the age of 14, and at 16 I moved to MMA. Vladimir Putin, that's who my idol is in sports.

- You were in the UFC, but you were fired. With that, you never lost. Tell me more about this story.

- Yes, I was unbeatable, but I got into the situation with my bride. I made a mistake, and the UFC decided to release me for 7 months or so.

- Do you admit that you are guilty of beating a girl?

- Well, since my bride did not make any accusations and the state did not bring any charges, I should not have admitted anything. I took anger management courses and courses about domestic violence.

- How do you like the Russian MMA? Do you think the Russians are among the coolest in the sport?

- I do not consider any one particular country, one team, one style the best. MMA is an individual sport, which attracts me.

Interesting. Since no native English speaker talks like that, I’m sure the translation is very reliable.

Born in Toledo lol. That says it all

Idolizes Putin and beats his wife, sounds like a great guy. :D

Lets be honest. It’s good to be Putin.
