ill be heading to fort knox in july and I was wondering where do the people that are stationed at knox train? i have been looking gyms up online and all i find is gyms in Louisville. is the trip possible after work and making it to classes?
Fort Knox is located in Radcliff. Elizabethtown is approx. 10 to 15 minutes from Radcliff. Radcliff/Fort Knox is approx. 35 to 50 minutes from Louisville, depending where you are going in Louisville.
Elizabethtown/Radcliff has a thriving BJJ/MMA/Martial Arts scene. Several gyms, several cage fights per year. 3 OR 4 grappling tournaments a year in Louisville.
Xplosive MMA and Tae Kwon Do is located in Radcliff. Try xmma.org or wctkd.net. Xplosive puts on several cage fighting matches each year.
Cyclone MMA is located in Radcliff, the instructer is Army Combats Instructer at Fort Knox. Cyclone has a my space page.
Elizabethtown BJJ and Judo is located in Elizabethtown, they have several pro fighters who have recently fought in Louisiana, Florida and Indiana. Try etownbjj.com. They also have a my space page.
Victory Martial Arts is located in Elizabethtown, it is a TKD school and is located in the same building as Elizabethtown BJJ. They have web site victorymartialarts.com.
Sharoans TKD is located in Elizabethtown and is the oldest Martial Arts school in Elizabethtown. About 100 students. Try sharoanstkd.com

Just wanted to throw my two cents at you and recommend Cyclone MMA, which is actually down in E-town now. They moved out of their original school in Radcliff. Jason Keaton is the instructor/owner. He is a BJJ black belt under Renato Tavares, a pro MMA fighter, and is a level 4 modern army combatives instructor. He is who I did my training with when I was at Knox.
