Apparently, he did keep his stock in Station.  I thought I may have read that he turned it over, but I am pretty sure that was in connection with obtaining licensing in New York, so it may have been speculation in the article.

calimma - LOL at CindyO making it seem as if Lorenzo really put his balls on the line by making the move to the UFC.

If by balls you mean his pride by risking failure in an effort to successfully achieve their global expansion plans w/o the benefit of a previous business model or mentor to help chart the course, then yes.

If you are referring to financial balls then, well... you are an idiot who lacks the ability to comprehend what has been shared on this thread:) Now hush and let the grown up talk, would ya? Thaaaaanks!

Cindy

 Conan,

"The only thing Lorenzo walked away from was $1,740,000 which ain't shit to him. "

*** Do you REALLY believe the only value to Lorenzo being with Station was financial? If that was the case, hell... the guy would never have to work another day in his life, yet he chooses to. There's more to his world that motivates his actions than money. I'm surprised you of all people doesn't realize this.

The casino industry has been in his blood forever and it's something he knows quite well. He has no model to follow when it comes to taking the UFC global because no one has ever done so. The UFC is the only successful large scale MMA promotion with the ability to make waves of epic proportion worldwide therefore all eyes are on him/them.

What he walked away from was the safety and respect for being successful in his field with an awesome track record in order to commit 100% of his time and efforts in something he bought in 2001 as a "cool hobby." The guy doesn't like to fail and he now has more on his plate than he probably has during his entire life.

Again, resigning as president of a sure thing and establishing lofty goals for a new venture right out of the gate is a big deal because all eyes are on him. Obviously, you feel differently and you are more than welcome to share your opinion, but... it is no better than mine or anyone elses;)

Cindy

this woman is speaking the truth you would be wise to listen he is laying it on the line. he basically was born into the casino business, but taking the ufc worldwide would be his own legacy. he could play it safe and keep doing what he was doing but he is stepping out on a limb

pharochuck,

Has what Lorenzo is attempting been done before in another sport? This is really the only one I follow.

Cindy

calimma - CindyO, you do nothing but substantiate the accusations that your opinions are biased and not to be taken seriously. Kinda like a lightweight version of Kazja13. You make comments insinuating that Lorenzo made some groundbreaking, trailblazing financial risk by working full time for Zuffa, and when people call you on it you spin it to make it seem as if you were refering to "pride" or "personal motivation apart from money." LOL at your "grownup talk."

Financial risk by working for Zuffa? His risk was more than likely everything BUT financial in regard to his salary. His risk is far greater and, yes, Lorenzo is a trailblazer... and what he is attempting is groundbreaking, or do you know another entity that has done this before?

Cindy

lorenzo is my role model

calimma - No CindyO, I don't know of an entity that's attempted that before and I believe that Lorenzo is a fucking stud that took a gamble on the UFC to begin with and turned it into the mainstream giant that I love to give my money to every month. What I'm saying is that you're a hyperbole filled spokeshole who's as credible as kazja13. Now, idiot or not, I'm allowed to have that opinion, right?

Nope, you aren't... not unless you can substantiate your claim that I am not credible. You would need to have facts for that not merely an opinion;)

Cindy

goku - lorenzo is my role model

 Not blue anymore, goku?

Ryan MacLeod -
3MTA3 - CindyO

You are an idiot. They OWN the company, he didn't walk away from that money. Jesus christ.

Actually, yes he did. If you relinquish an executive position the salary doesn't follow you. He would just retain his shares in the company, but would no longer draw a salary. Guess you are the idiot.

 Hi Ryan,

I think 3MTA3 is... you know... "special."

How have you been lately?

Cindy

they could of bought PrideFC 6x over.

thats fucking pimp.

Lorenzo will really turn the UFC around.

There's no model? See Vince McMahon circa 1983. The similarities are striking. Notice how Dana talks shit about EVERYONE except Vince McMahon?

When did the WWE become a regulated MMA promotion??? Are their events subject to weigh-ins, physicals, drug testing, sanctioning body, judges and rules? Are they overseen by athletic commissions?

Taking their show on the road is not unlike Britney Spears or Snoop Dogg doing a world tour.

Do you know what a business model is?
