The reason being that Mir doesn't have a good enough takedown to get a guy w/ tdd like JDS and he is not quick enough or defensive enough to stand with JDS for more than a round.
A quicker KO than Velasquez that is stylistically not compelling is not the answer.
Mark Hunt has one of the best chins and is the best striker besides JDS in the UFC who isn't being suspended for drug abuse.
Mark Hunt and JDS is GUARANTEED fireworks, the kind you'd almost be willing to bet confidently on and if JDS could blast a monster vet like Hunt out of there then it'd add a lot of prestige to his belt.
Beating Mir until his face resembles Sloth from The Goonies is not really adding anything to your Championship accolades and just solidifies what most fans know which is that Kid's wrestling is not good enough to take JDS down and that while being a good striker, he'll come up real short against Junior, and probably doesn't have the chin to withstand any sort of flurry from him.
Really stupid if the UFC takes the easy way out to just sell out for more buys to the unsuspecting casuals who are duped into thinking Mir has a real chance when everyone knows that Hunt is the biggest threat other than Cain, that's in the UFC.
Mark Hunt vs. Junior Dos Santos is the thinking MMA fan's match and takes real balls to make and is very sellable with the right amount of effort and creativity.
