I thought Brock's celebration was ok, but he apologized and what's done is done. But besides everyone focusing on that...is anyone even slightly embarrassed for Frank that he was so arrogant and mocked Brock so much in prefight and then got his ass beat?
My brother who had never seen a UFC PPV said, "This Mir guy is an arrogant douchebag"..
Another question, when is he going to explain his technical BJJ to Brock like he promised? :)
Fight hype is just fight hype man.
EM, do you really believe that every person completely makes up the fight hype and "acts"? I know some do. Which I hate. But I believe, because Frank is usually arrogant, that his trash talking was real.
I think every single person comes up with their own shtick. That's Frank's.
Two different threads, one about how God-like Brock is, and the other about how big of a dbag you think Mir is.
We get it.
Cock Lesnar is a tool, way harder core than arrogant in my op!
When did I say he was God-Like?
This thread is clearly about if you put the Brock issue aside, how embarrassing is it to think back to Frank's prefight and see how mauled he got?
"I dropped Nogueira"
he did say he was gonna break a limb this time... tap or no tap im gonna break it off. i feel no remorse for him. sadly he will play out this drama for some sympathy points. its fighting, if you're not into it, golf or something.
<!--Session data-->He questioned Roli's black belt, he deserved all he got.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Brock Lesnar for getting these nerds so worked up. lmao
Brock is the most disrespectful yang gobbler around, Mir's talking was just taking credit where credit is due
Brock lost the first fight in 90 seconds and did nothing but make excuses and talk trash since
that pointing and laughing at the end of the Herring fight pretty much sums Brock up
a disgrace to martial arts
Frank is actually a very nice guy. I have spent time with him and his family and trained with him. He is one of the most open guys I have ever seen when it comes to learning from others. Sadly, some of the communication in public and to hype shows portrays him very different than he is in real life. He is a very committed and loving father. When I see so many fighters and having fun, I have always seen Frank with his entire family. I suspect if some of his critics actually knew Frank, they would have a very different opinion about him. It is probably that way with many figthers.
You guys take it more personally than Frank & Brock did. Sheesh.
inf0 -EvilMaster - Fight hype is just fight hype man.
So when Mir says "I'm not going to let go this time I'm going to break something" before the fight, it doesn't mean anything? You know, he has broken bones before.. you do realize.
Fuck Mir for being an asshole. He got what he deserved.
Just because you have a fight with someone, doesn't mean you have to trash talk. Look at the best in the business.. Mino, Fedor, Randy.... they never talk trash.. hence nobody thinks they are assholes.
Are you serious? Do you think when two fighters actually dislike each other and they say they are going to kill the other, it actually happens?
They are words. Its hyping a fight, not only does every fighter do it but I would bet they are told to do it. I would further assume that you think what rampage did was ok but when Frank says something well thats bad for the sport.
PINKsinglet - <!--Session data-->He questioned Roli's black belt, he deserved all he got.
Exactly. Part of Frank's problem is he simply isn't bright enough to know where to stop. It looks like the concept of 'drawing the line' escapes him.
Mir got precisely what he deserved, and what's funny is the moron's saying how respectful and classy mir was after the fight. He has talked shit about every single option of brock since he got lucky last year. He wasn't classy, he was absolutely, and completely humiliated.
Fight hype is fight hype, but when someone with the temperment of a Brock Lesnar isn't particularly feeling that bullshit, and gets angry... you all cry foul.
The guy (Mir) talked tons and tons of shit. "I'm working on the intricacies of moves that Brock has never even heard of" "I'll train him after the fight" blah blah. Now listen, I like Frank Mir. Good guy, good fighter, very analytical, and intelligent. That said, he said a lot of things that the FRATE took to heart. That's just the way Brock is. He didn't like being disrespected, and this guy had already beaten him when he was technically still *VERY* raw, which just irked him inside. So what did he do? He kicked the guy's ass. He was fired up, had been rocked a bit in the fight (which I can personally assure you gets all kinds of emotions firing through you when the fight's over), and when he turned around, Mir was right there (stumbling towards him, which I don't think Brock realized at first), and Brock told him that's what he gets for talking all that shit. People start boo'ing over it, and he flips them off (in a fuck you all too, talk all the shit you want manner). Over that, people are crying and whining. The same people that are saying he has a dick tattoo on his chest, the same people that said Mir was going to wreck him, the same people that laugh and call him a joke, etc.
I'll say this again (as i said in a prior post), this guy doesn't owe any of you SHIT but to perform, and that's exactly what he did.
Now, disrespecting the UFC with the COOOOO-Ors light comment (By far the funniest part of the night), that was dumb. Lol. It was funny, but dumb. The "lay on top of his wife" comment was pure gold. The fact is, the guy is great to watch. He reminds me of Nick Diaz, almost. Listen to his post fight apology. I believe that he was sincere. He wasn't kissing ass, he was just telling us wtf was going through his mind, and no one wants to hear it.
I think we're all dumb asses for crying about this.

What did Frank Mir say that was so bad? All he did was tell the truth with a smile.
Brock, on the other hand, was getting highly emotional, personal and making threats to Mir, Mazzagatti and even confronted the fans.
Mir may have seemed cocky, but it was based in reality at that point. Brock was just blowing hot air, and kept talking shit afterwards.
I find it funny how someone can dislike Mir because of his "attitude," yet they can like Brock....wtf?
