trianglezilla - Well he's hall of fame isn't he? I wouldn't say he's denied. his conduct and personal conflicts have at times shadowed some of his career but yeah he's a legend no doubt
He's not in the UFC hall of fame which is what the OP was pushing for.
Can anybody find that gif of Frank fighting in Pancrase? The gif of him smiling while the other guy is hitting him in the face? I believe it's Bas Rutten hitting him.
Like it or not, Frank Shamrock is a legend of the sport and deserves HOF status. He was one of the first TRUE well-rounded fighters. IIRC, he had a kickboxing coach and a wrestling coach, and also had a wicked submission game. He also put a lot of emphasis in his strength and conditioning. One of the all time best slams was the one he pulled on Zinoviev, very unforgettable.

Did Zinoviev fight after that slam? I don't think he did. Anyways, I guess that's the way it goes sometimes.
Rawbass - Anybody that denies this apparently hasn't seen the fight between Frank Shamrock and Tito Ortiz from 1998. Frank was outweighed by 30 pounds and was about 4 inches shorter.
Who won that fight? Let me just say that DFW's intentions are only to prop up his all too large ego. Frank should be given the respect he deserves!
Knew i shouldnt click on this thread but i did anyways. slaps self in forehead
Frank is a legend. He was one of the first to recognise cross training. Have all of his old pancrase fights and it is a shame that he does not get the respect he deserves.
He was a pioneer and just because he was outspoken against Dana, it doesn't mean he should be cast off to the side and his achievements be forgotten. He fully deserves his place in history.
I think it is also a little bit of a tragedy that he has sunk so far from relevance. That night he beat Tito he was the best fighter on Earth. Now consider where Tito is, and where he is.
His website says he is moving to NY in 2011 to get MMA legalized. Outside of him sniping back and forth with Dana last I heard was he lost his school. His shamrockmma.com site looks like he is getting into Information Marketing - those sites with BIG letters in DiFfeRent Colors!
He was a great and hugely influential figure in the sport, and I hope is doing great.
frank shamrock is definitely a legend in mma, and if there would be such a thing as mma hof, then he sure would deserve to be in it but i ask you this:
why would frank want to be hof in a company he is constantly bashing?

I was there cage side for that fight and even walked with Frank back to his dressing room after it was over. Was a great event!
