I think Frank would be crazy for taking this fight unless he is offered an insane amount of money. Anyone agree?
I think he could beat Baroni without too much difficulty, but he would be crazy to take it simply because Frank has nothing to prove by beating someone with a record of 9-7 who just lost his last fight.
If Phil wins he beats the man who is widely regarded as the greatest MMA fighter of all time. And Frank's legacy is tarnished.
If Frank wins, no big deal.
The Cesar Gracie fight, despite being ridiculous, was over two years in the making and the opponent was a Gracie.
This fight is only being hyped because both of them ran their big mouths, as usual.
I sincerely doubt it.
Frank has been on the shelf way too long to have a chance in this fight IMO. Baroni would knock Shelfrock TFO.
LOL at Frank being the greatest mma fighter of all time. He hardly ever fights. You're a dipshit. By the way his last fight was against Cesar Gracie, a man who doesn't really even fight.
At the time when Frank retired he was considered by many to be the best MMA fighter.
Cmon..you cant seriously think that Baroni can beat Frank Shamrock without getting insanely lucky. If this fight is setup, would it be a 5 round fight?
this is the first I heard about this ....lemme guess Frank is running his mouth again, only not 2 fight. I dont see him fighting twice in the same year.
He'll prolly fight a bum in about 3-5 years.....oh yea, and the bum will prolly be baroni after everyone in pride beats him
"LOL at Frank being the greatest mma fighter of all time. He hardly ever fights. You're a dipshit. By the way his last fight was against Cesar Gracie, a man who doesn't really even fight. "
Uh, did I say he was the best fighter of all time? Read my first post before you write retarded shit like that.
Yea, he hardly fights ANYMORE. But he had almost 30 mma fights in his day, which is more than Fedor and Penn so far, and he has won his last 10 fights.
Do I think he's the best ever? No. But many people do hold him in that regard.
Frank should fight BJ

"If Phil wins he beats the man who is widely regarded as the greatest MMA fighter of all time"
Most of the people who actually know who Frank is post on this forum.
Outside of the hardcore very few know him.
On this forum he is definitley not widely regarded as the greatest MMA fighter of all time.
when your biggest win is over a very green Tito Ortiz only a fool would consider you the greatest of all time.
Baroni would KO Frank in the first. It would be embarassing.
"Slap fighting in Pancrease is considered MMA? He said his loss to John Lober was his first MMA fight. So apparently he doesn't count those as MMA fights."
Whatever.
LMMFAO @ slapfights
pictures him slapfighting in middle school fashion stance
franks badass but this will cme dwn to boxing. both are god, either could win. barni ko's more peple though.
franks takedwns arent great and baronis defense is pretty good.
It'll be interesting to see what happens.
A win over Baroni would have to put Frank back into arguments about the top 10 middleweights.
Baroni has lost almost half his fights, I don't think it would prove much at all.
"At the time when Frank retired he was considered by many to be the best MMA fighter."
Correct
Baroni by KO/TKO is my call...I think Frank should have picked a lesser opponant to get his ring legs back with...
Not go from Caesar "What's a punch?" Gracie to a top dog like Phil in one jump...Ballsy move though..This is a tough one for me to pick cause I am such a big fan of both of theirs...But I'll stick with Phil by K.O due to Ring Rust on Frank...
Sorry Frank...But you can always Prove me wrong.
Either Way...Thank You Stikeforce...
Prediction 1: This fight will never happen. Frank Shamrock has no confidence in his own abilities, even against an opponent as limited as Baroni.
Prediction 2: Should hell freeze over the way it did the day Ortiz signed to fight Liddell and Frank signs to fight his first decent opposition in 7 years, Baroni by KO. Frank can't take him down, can't hang with him on the feet, hasn't a prayer of subbing him, etc.
