He lost twice at LW and got an immediate title shot at FW jumping ahead of people and he didnt see a problem.
But fast forward and yes he has won 3 since losing to Edgar but just one against someone in the top 10. He should fight Chad Mendes.
The sport is about entertainment and finding out who the best is.....We already saw what happened when Frankie fought Jose, we saw he is not the best. How about we see who the best is and let someone who hasnt lost to Jose have a crack at him.
If Conor wins against Siver he will be 5-0 in the UFC and far more deserving than Frankie was when he got the title shot originally.
I love Frankie but OP has one thing right - he's gotten his share of title shots. I wouldn't be upset to see him wait for Connor, if I'm honest...
Judging by your screen name, there is certainly no bias here. Lol
I have no problem with Frankie getting a shot at Aldo, BUT if he loses even by decision there should be no immediate rematch.
Agreed. Frankie had his shot and lost. New contenders should get their shots before there's any talk of a rematch.
Crazy idea guys, give one guy a shot, and then give the other guy a shot at the winner!
I feel like so many people here feel like the next fight is everyone's last.

Haha. Yep. I think this debate is a line in the sand for some people. What direction is the sport going in? But really, the best fighter will emerge eventually. Aldo might just dust everyone anyways.
5-0 being fed easy matchups or losing a split decision to the LW champion of the world? Wich one tells you more about how good a guy is?
Frankie has become the pretentious chin-strokers favorite fighter overnight.
Rear Naked Bloke -I don't even see either decision is that wrong.SupesUp - Crazy idea guys, give one guy a shot, and then give the other guy a shot at the winner!

Edgar
Pros:
Better overall resume
Just had dominant performance
Beat #2 guy
Cons:
Already fought champ
Has had plenty of title shots
Conner
Pros:
5-0 in ufc if he wins his next
Exciting fights
Exciting personality
Finisher
Cons:
Easier road to belt
No wrestlers
Flavour of the week
Both have legit reasons to get the shot. Neither one proves the ufc is headed in some awful direction. I would love to see any and all of those fights.

Junior's likely still the 2nd best HW but do you want to see him rematch Cain endlessly just because of 'how good he is'.
Conor is the one that should be fighting either Mendes or Edgar... The only legit fighter not coming off a loss that he has fought is Dustin Porier.
Max was coming off a loss
Diego off a loss
That Brumige guy thinks he's Super sayan !
If Edgar and Mendes are going to be perennial contenders then he needs to fight one of them.
Yes he has won all his fights well, but not against anyone at Aldo, Mendes or Edgar level. He is only fighting Siver because Boston is full of Irish fans. I love watching him but don't let your pride feed this guy to the wolves.

Probably not the best example
Regardless of if Conner deserves it or not, I would rather him be in there with Aldo then Edgar.. Conner has so much personality and talent, he blows frankie away. Don't get me wrong, Frankie is one hell of a fighter, going to go down as one of the best, but let's face it, I'm sick and tired of watching him go for title shots.. He gets them delivered to him on a silver fuckin plater..

He got the rematch because he had a win over the champ and it was the rubber match. But if people are using purely linear method for title shots then Junior should be getting yet another rematch if he beats #4 ranked Stipe. He would deserve it after all.
Both Frankie and Conor have compelling arguments, but ultimately, the numbers will trump everything. The vote was 53-47 % for Edgar, hardly an overwhelming endorsement.
What is overwhelming is the projected 40% loss in profit the UFC is facing. The only way to address this is put on some big assed fights/cards that people will both attend and purchase via PPV. Any one following the sport this last year knows McGregor v Aldo will easily outsell Edgar Aldo. Frankie to face Lamas and the winner faces McGregor v Aldo winner (*IF McGregor gets back the German steroid abuser)

Werdum is the 2nd best HW. Thats why he is fighting Cain for the real belt. And im not so sure Junior could KO Werdum like that again. Its a different fight now
Besides your argument is revisionist history. They have fought 3X, of course i wouldnt want to see a 4th fight. But using your very own logic, we shouldnt have seen a 2nd fight either since Junior KOd Cain in less than a minute. Thats about as dominant a win as one can get yet the rematch changed everything
I wouldnt mind if Conor got the shot, just like i wouldnt mind if Floyd Mayweather got an instant titleshot, its an exciting matchup. But i wouldnt tell myself its because he is the best in the division
Its plain as day that they are feeding him the easiest fights possible to ensure he gets a shot. If Sivers is just to keep busy and for the payday, it shouldnt even be counted as an argument for getting a titleshot
GSPsShadyHandWraps - 5-0 being fed easy matchups or losing a split decision to the LW champion of the world? Wich one tells you more about how good a guy is?Exactly. The OP wants Frankie to fight Mendes to be deserving, but has no problem seeing Conor in these stepping stone matchups. How about we see Conor earn his shot as you offered Edgar to do in the OP against Mendes or Edgar himself? Conor beats Lamas, Edgar, or Mendes in any form, whether it be a decision, TKO, sub, DQ, or KO, and I say give him his titleshot. Otherwise fuck all the rah rah about someone who is being piggybacked to the top.

This. In terms of win streaks, I still think Conor's is better should he finish Siver, but this guy's got it right.
