We will also have ADCC being run on the projector throughout the day!

So far, we have a few Check-Mat black belts confirmed including newly crowned US National Open Black Belt Champ, Joao Assis.

This should be a great event to attend. If you live or visiting Los Angeles, you should come by. Its not always you get to attend a free seminar, train, and watch ADCC in the same day.

We will also have black belts Lucas Leite, Ingamar Santos, and Marcelo "Lapela" Mafra there for you guys to meet and train with.

As for the classes, the training is going great. The evening classes are starting to fill up, but the morning classes (6 days a week, but especially the 7am classes) have pretty much been one or two students (blue or white belt) with the instructor. So, those guys are lucking out. This morning, Tony (blue belt) shared the class with Mattheus Costa (black belt), me (brown), and Leandro (black). I know he had a great time and i wish I had that at blue!

10:00am-10:45am: Doors Open - Meet and Greet

10:45am-11:00am: The hierarchy of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu positions with author Kevin Howell

11:00pm,-12:00pm: Free Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu seminar with head instructor, Leandro Vieira (loaner kimonos will be available)

12:00pm-12:30pm: Open training with Team Check-Mat blackbelts with Q and A

12:30pm-2:00pm: Lunch time intermission: Free food/BBQ, games, and meet and greet.

2:00pm-2:30pm: Live judo demonstration - Traditional throwing skills with Juan Montenegro and Competition Techniques with Joshua Resnick

2:45pm-3:00pm: The hierarchy of submission wrestling positions with author Kevin Howell

3:00pm-4:00pm: Free submission wrestling seminar with head instructor, Leandro Vieira (please wear either a T-shirt or rash guard)

4:00pm-4:30pm: Open training with Team Check-Mat

4:30pm-8:00pm: Academy Open House with food, meet and greet, video, and footage of the 2009 ADCC Submission Wrestling Championships.

We hope so. I know he teaches at OCJJ in the morning, but we are hoping that he comes up after his class. I'm thinking that it is likely that he'll be there.
