Instead of just accepting youāre gay, coming out as gay, and being comfortably gay, you just hate yourself and kill everyone that reminds you of yourself so it kills the gay you. But it never does.

I doubt thereās any sort of a logical linear explanation for what the guy did as heās clearly a very disturbed individual. I think itās obvious that he was ashamed of his father & probably grew up hating him. But maybe his fascination with gay culture was an attempt to understand him. Or perhaps he was gay himself & he loathed himself for it because he didnāt want to be anything like his father. So, he acted on these feelings by lashing out at the gays in that club. Or he may have had completely different motivations. We may find out what they were during the trial or he could tell his lawyers a bunch of bullshit & weāll never know the truth.

Yeah I think itās the latter theory you presented. It almost always is. Dude hates his dad for abuse/neglect, turns out to be gay. Hates himself for it, tries to kill every version of himself in whatever way possible.
