I haven’t seen much of Usyk but he is good from what I understand. Like Holyfield he is a blown up cruiserweight so I give him props for that. Problem is he is fighting one of the biggest champs ever.
Can Usyk out point Fury? Does he have the power to hurt him? Will Tyson just snipe him from distance all night?
I only have Fury slightly favored just because of his size. He isn’t more skilled than Usyk. People here are forgetting Fury got dropped and was losing on the cards against USS Cunningham before finally stopping him.
He didn’t look good against Wallin and arguably lost the first fight against Wilder because of the controversial 10 count.
Fury took punishment in those three fights with Wilder, he’s older, still drinking and doing coke. All that adds up.
Now Usyk will have to fight the perfect fight. He needs to be on his toes for 12 rounds and keep his back off the ropes. It’s not impossible, Fury is capable of losing and Usyk has the tools to do it.
As John fury said a good big lad beats a good little lad.
Usyk is very skilled but so is Tyson and I think he will revert back to his jab and grab tactics against Usyk, make him carry his weight, disrupt the smaller mans in and out style with his jab and shut down his combinations inside with the clinch, tire him out.
It’ll still be an interesting matchup but you have to slightly favour Fury although I agree with Barry, Fury doesn’t look after himself properly and he has shown some kinks in his armour against far lesser opponents than Usyk.
