Game of Thrones - Faces? (No Ssn 6 Spoilers in OP)

Ok...  I get it.

GOT has multiple story lines and I pretty much think I have a handle over most of them.

I am not the brightest guy in the world... but I think I am a little confused about this whole "faces" storyline?

I understand that Arya met some guy who "assassinated" a bunch of folks for her...

She then went under his tutelage to learn from him...

Now she is dealing with learning about "Faces"?

Can somebody help explain this to me in basic terms without giving away any future storylines?

Does anybody understand this or able to explain this in simple terms?

Thanks in advance.

What the fuck is there to get? They are the faceless men. They carry out assassinations by people that pray to the many faced god by wearing different faces and becoming different people through magic. Phone Post 3.0

The faceless assassins worship the many-faced god in the House of Black and White. She ran into one such assassin back in season two and saved his life. He said his code meant that he owed her 3 deaths. She uses two of them and asks that assassin kill himself as the third. He gives her a coin that will get her to their headquarters in Braavos on the other continent. She goes there looking for him since she believes most of her family is dead.

She joins up with the devotees of the order and they use the faces in the House to pull off their assassinations. In the show they say she went blind because she abused a face to kill selfishly. In the books she goes blind voluntarily as part of her training.

A man has many questions.

I may not remember it correctly, but I don't think she voluntarily went blind. I think she was punished for killing a deserter from the Night's Watch. They made her drink some weird poisoned milk I think. It's been a while though. Anyone?

Anyone else?

So you have to pray to the many faced God to get someone killed? Phone Post 3.0

Season 2, unless you believe the theory that Jaqen and Syrio are the same person. Phone Post 3.0

Yes season two when she was at Harrenhall with Tywin.

Conan stevens's didn't get on with the rest of the cast and so left to do other things
The other dude was just a stand in and wasn't swole enough
Hafthor Julius Bjornsonn is a huge human but can keep his juice rage in check so they kept him around

Number 1 was a better actor, but number 3 fits the appearance better. His line delivery is pretty flat though Phone Post 3.0
