Garcia 2:Vol.6-Submissions-REVIEW

Garcia 2: VOLUME 6 - Advanced Submissions - REVIEW

This volume deals with nothing else but SUBMISSIONS that Marcelo uses everyday & in competitions to tap his opponents.

This Volume has 17 Techniques/17 Chapters

Technique 1: This technique starts with the opponent sitting down & Marcelo standing up away from him. Marcelo uses both hands to grab both of the opponents ankles & rolls the opponents legs over him. The opponent will roll back to the sit up position. Once he does this Marcelo uses his left hand to grab the back of the opponents head & at the same time put his right bade under the opponents neck keeping his chest on the opponents head. Now Marcelo grabs his wrist, bringing his right blade up & taps the opponent with a guillotine.

Technique 2: This is a variation from the previous move. This time when the opponent rolls back forward, he was faster & able to hug his left arm around Marcelo's right leg as he sat up. Now marcelo drives his right knee into the opponent & quickly brings the right knee back to straighten his leg to create space & at the same time fences his right blade deep under the opponents neck & cupping the guys right arm (head & arm hold). Here Marcelo steps around to the left to put the knee in the belly. Marcelo Then grabs his wrist to lock the head arm choke & forces the opponent to tap as he drives him to the floor.

Technique 3: In this technique, The opponent puts Marcelo in the de la riva guard, hooking Marcelo's left leg. Marcelo avoids the opponent from grabbing his sleeves. Now marcelo steps back with his right leg, swims his left arm under the opponents right shin, around his arm then back in to grab his collar. now marcelo sits & uses his hips to tap the opponent with a kneebar.

Technique 4: In this technique, marcelo is in the opponents half guard with the opponent trapping his right leg. The opponent was faster & fenced his left arm under marcelo's right arm wrapping his left arm around Marcelo's right leg. At this point, Marcelo steps his left leg backwards, over the opponent, sitting to the other side, Uses his left hand to cup the opponents left elbow & pinches the elbow tight with his left knee. Now Marcelo feeds his right arm through & also crosses his left leg over the opponents body & completes the armbar.

Technique 5: This technique begins with the opponent has the de la riva guard hooking Marcelo's left left leg & uses his left hand to control Marcelo's left sleeve. Marcelo squats down trapping the opponents right leg & at the same time brings both hands under the guys right thigh interlocking the fingers. Once here, Marcelo rolls forward & locks a triangle over the opponent right leg & lifts his hips & uses hands to pull the thigh towards him to tap the opponent with a calf slicer.

Technique 6: This techniques starts from the side control, Marcelo on the opponents left side with his right arm under the opponents left arm & his left knee under the opponents right shoulder, trapping the right arm. Now Marcelo switches his hips by using his left arm to trap the opponents right arm, turining to the left, sliding his right leg underneath that right arm & his left leg back behind him. Now marcelo uses his left arm to fence under the opponents right arm & bring that arm across the opponents chest to the other side. As he does this he keeps his chest on top of the guys right arm, & comes back to his knees. Marcelo controlling both arms tight, Places the right knee in the belly, steps over the head with his left leg, sits back & can get a armbar with either arm he chooses.

Technique 7: This a variation from the previous move. Still side control. Marcelo has both of his arms under the opponents left arm with his hands grabbing his elbows & his left knee under the opponents right shoulder trapping the guys right arm. Now Marcelo puts his right knee over the opponents stomach & at the same time driving his head to the floor. Then Marcelo drives his left knee across the guys chest placing the knee on the floor, on the left side of the opponents head. Marcelo finds the opponents left elbow with his arms & brings it to his chest to get the tap.

Technique 8: This is a variation of the previous technique. Except this time, the opponent gets his right elbow inside on Marcelo's stomach. Marcelo cups the opponents left arm with his right hand & brings his right elbow on top of the opponents chest as he walks north-south. Now marcelo switches his left arm under the opponents left arm (like he's going for the kimura)with his palm up & uses his right hand to grab the bottom of the opponents jacket & feeds it to his left hand. Them Marcelo walks to his left to have the side control, slides his right hand in the opponents opposite collar, thumb inside, placing the forearm across the guys throat & sprawls out on his toes to apply pressure & force the opponent to tap.

Technique 9: This technique starts in side control. This time the opponent is able to get both elbows inside next to his body. Marcelo uses his left hand to pull out his left side of his jacket & feeds it to his right hand, going across the opponents neck. Now marcelo swims his left arm under the opponents head & switches the jacket to his left hand. Then Marcelo brings his right arm behind the opponents head grabbing his left sleeve & pulls with his left hand to tap the opponent with a choke.
Technique 10: In this technique, Marcelo has the opponent in the butterfly guard with both arms fenced under the opponents arms. Marcelo then swings his right arm over the opponents left arm, scoots his hips out, & puts his right knee on the guys back finding the elbow & tapping the opponent. Sometimes the opponent will try to roll & marcelo just keeps the arm finishing with a regular armbar.

Technique 11: This technique, Marcelo has the opponent his butterfly guard. Marcelo uses his right hand to grab the opponents cross collar. once he does this the drives his weight on marcelo & swims his left arm under Marcelo's right arm pit. At the same time, slides his right blade under the guys neck & uses his left hand on the back of the opponents head to help trap his head under his right armpit. marcelo the swims his left arm under the opponents chest around to the top of the guys left shoulder grabbing the jacket, & now pulls his arms to get the choke.

Technique 12: This technique starts standing up. As the opponent goes for the single leg on marcelo's right leg, Marcelo fences his right arm cross the opponents chest cupping the opponents right arm at the same time as he sprawls. Now Marcelo uses his left hand to open the opponents right jacket. Now marcelo switches his right hand as deep in that right collar as he can & walks to the left so he can grab the opponents right leg with his left hand. Now Marcelo spins underneath the opponent & once the opponent is on his back Marcelo lifts his hips & pulls with his right hand to tap the guy with the choke.

Technique 13: In this technique, marcelo goes for the arm drag on the opponents right arm from the butterfly guard. when Marcelo drags the arm across to go to the back the opponent will roll forward to escape. Here marcelo locks the triangle onthe oppponents right leg & pulls down on the opponents right foot to tap the guy with a calf slicer.

Technique 14: This technique, Marcelo has the opponent in the butterfly guard & goes for the arm drag on the opponents right arm gets up onto the back & brings the opponent back down to him trying to get the second hook in. But now the opponent defends him from getting that hook in by using is left hand on marcelo's left ankle. Once this happens, Marcelo uses his left hand to grab the opponents left wrist & brings that left arm behind the guys back. Here marcelo brings the opponents wrist in the direction of his head to tap the opponent.

Technique 15: In this technique, starts standing. The opponent uses his right hand to grab the same side of Marcelo's collar up high by the shoulder. Marcelo cups his left hand behind the opponents right tricep. Then Marcelo pushes the opponents forearm out so that the back of the opponents hand is against marcelo chest. Now marcelo brings his right hand to the back of the guys right tricep aswell & brings it to him to tap the opponent with a wrist lock.

Technique 16: This submission begins when Marcelo has the back from an arm drag with both hooks in from standing up, & the opponent continues to stand straight up. Marcelo uses his right hand to go under the opponents neck & grab the collar. Now removes the right hook, & uses his left hand to grab the opponents pants at the left knee rolling the opponent over him & finishing with a choke.

Technique 17: Here Marcelo shows the same submission from the previous technique, except he starts from having the back control on the ground. instead of standing.

Garcia 2: VOLUME 6 - Advanced Submissions - OVERALL REVIEW.

I really enjoyed this VOLUME as well!! The submissions shown by Marcelo are advanced & the beginner grappler might not be able to pull them off & maybe they can. The Submissions can be very easily pulled off & are very effective. Several techniques stood out when I trained the other night & was able to incorporate some of the submissions into the game & again. was swarmed with questions, with open eyes. This Volume will definately open you game & is highly recommended.

I rate this volume 5/5 stars
