Gary Oldman is the greatest actor of all time.

Z NEDCMK1 -

I just realized that John Lone is Christopher Walkens Asian clone.

After a google search I see im not the only one.

DDL best of all time hands down! Soneone said he is a method actor, what does that mean? Phone Post

BigWilliam - Oldman is amazing.

Nicholson is a hack, painfully overrated. He is just being Jack Nicholson on screen, The Shining is probably the last time he actually acted at all. Ok, maybe a Few Good Men. He is not even in the same league as DDL or Oldman.

One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest

Hoffa

Batman

Chinatown

Terms of Endearment

The Crossing Gaurd

The Pledge

Prizzis Honor

Tho Postman Always Rings Twice

As Good As It Gets

The Shining

Over rated Hack?

China Town and the Postman Always Rings Twice are before or right around the same time as the Shining. Most of those others you listed yes, he is just doing naughty Jack like every other time he is on screen.

He was a terrible Joker in Batman. Hoffa is the only exception on that list, but by and large he just does his shtick and never actually makes a character.

Texas Top Team - Daniel Day Lewis is a method actor. That isn't good acting at all. Same with Dustin Hoffman. Phone Post

He was great in King Ralph.

Good list, although I feel like his role as Mason Verger, in Hannibal, should have been there.

Pleasantly surprised with that list. Usually these things suck

Deniro rarely steps out of his comfort zone...and im a huge fan. ..he is def not better than oldman. Phone Post

Besides his early roles, i always tthought Pacino was overrated

Bruce Willis was on such a roll with The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable and 12 Monkeys. He can play different types but no good roles for him. Phone Post 3.0

I think you might be misinterpreting that famous quote from Laurence Olivier

I get the complaints about jack just playing jack, but I'm not sure his role in the Pledge fits that catagory. Though I never thought the film or his character in it was actually that great

Gary Oldman is your favorite actors favorite actor. He is not popular in a "mainstream" sense but he has that industry respect. He is one of the greatest actors of all time.

"He musta thought it was white boy day. It ain't white boy day, is it?"

"No man, it ain't white boy day."

Jeff Bridges better than Gary Oldman? You must be high as fuck. Phone Post

lol, such a great film, scene and quote.

Depp and Hanks have that crazy range

theBEAToff - Depp and Hanks have that crazy range

Agreed.

When it comes to Depp, one of the roles that impressed me was Donnie Brasco. I saw a documentary on the real dude and it was insane how Depp nailed the voice and mannerism to a tee. Hell, even the real Joe Pistone was shocked.

The Pledge is his best performance IMO Phone Post 3.0

Drop I get to a certain degree but I don't see range in Hanks really. To be he's always the generic everyman. When I watch him I just see Tom Hanks, I never feel the role.
With Oldman it's just different people every time. From Leon to Tinker Tailor... the difference in character is awesome.
Didn't he also direct Nil by mouth - he has some serious talent. Phone Post 3.0
