He just ruined ANOTHER exciting fighter. LET ALONE the UFC's most energetic, exciting fighter.
We all saw what happened to Condit and its a damn shame.
Rumor was Diego Sanchez originally left Greg because he was trying to get him to fight "smart" and try new strategies.
FYI Clay Guida won that fight 4-1 rounds easily, but you can't blame him when you look at the list of killers Greg Jackson ruined.
Ttt
Clay fucked up, and i am a huge guida nerd
I just hope that fighters and coaches realize that won't work and drop it from their game-planning strats.
Over the last two years, Jackson's fighters not only finish fights more often than the average fighter, they lose more frequently by finish than by decision too.

It's a few months old but the numbers have held up. Click the link to see the percentages.
So what to make of these numbers? First of all it should be stated right away that the rest of the MMA world has caught up to Greg Jackson and his team. The days when a Jackson's fighter entered the cage almost assured of a win are long gone. The idea that he favors a safe fighting style? The evidence does not support this, at least not over the past two years. Jackson's fighters not only finish fights more often than the average UFC fighter, they lose more often by finish than they do by decision. As for the notion that Jackson is a master game planner? There isn't much there to support that either. His fighters are winning decisions more often than they are losing them, but certainly not by much.

^^^ so of course there will he more finishes etc.
Point is... JACKSON IS TRYING TO CHANGE FIGHTERS IN SMART POIMT FIGHTERS AND I'VE LOST A TON OF RESPECT for him.
Clay Guida was never an exciting fighter... the only fights of his that were exciting are ones where he's getting his ass kicked which means his opponents made it exciting.
The huerta fight was boring as shit until roger landed the knee.
The pettis fight was atrocious.
The Gomi fight was a carbon copy of the maynard fight in the first round... then Gomi got restless and made a mistake.
the mac danzig fight was disgusting.
Clay Guida needs to move to 145 so he doesnt have to resort to this nonsense point fighting.

Fella, no one is watching Jackson's fighters on the undercards. He is convincing fighters that are in the spot light that there is more to gain by fighting conservatively and winning than losing in exciting fashion. And he is probably right about this on a financial level. Averages hide a lot of sin my friend...a lot of sin.
Fighters with less to lose are more likely to go for broke. You need to look deeper at the numbers to get a clear understanding of what is happening.
