genki number one?

is there anyone with me that genki sudo has one of the best all around games and mindsets to be the top lightweights in the world

and I know he doesn't fight the top right now, but just speculating if he did

He landed some good shots on Masato and he beat Lerma pretty handily. Lerma may not be great at K-1 but he's had 40 pro boxing fights (29-10-1), which makes him much more experienced than Genki. He did clown a bit too much against Masato but he was certainly competitive. I think he's got really solid striking skills, he just messes around too much.

Redneck is correct (as always)

Pun, who's better?

Bang's the only one to have beaten him and we all know what happened there, there's even been a rule change since then

DROC

How was his fight against Lerma ? I heard Genki said on the press conferens that he'd clown around less in that fight to prove he could fight in K1 in a more traditional way too. Haven't seen the fight unfortunatly. I agree Genki could be/ probably is the best lightweight

Genki's all around game is VERY good!

sudo is BY FAR my favorite fighter. He's humble as hell too.

Gomi is better

do gomi and sudo train together or was genki just cornering him for the bj penn fight @ ROTR???

I might be wrong but I do think gomi and sudo train together, or are at least friends

I'd like to see sudo/penn and sudo/bang 2 the most

but I would love seeing him fight yves, serra, franca, thomson, gomi, pulver...

hell, genki vs anyone would be cool in my book

except royce...I don't care to see him fight royce

where did that rumor fly of to, anyways?

yeah, i agree with pigpen. i just like to watch genki fight.

I would have loved to see Genki vs. Penn but unfortunately Penn put on a couple pounds. I think a Genki vs. Yves match would help the lightweight division out a lot in the UFC

Excellent, almost freakishly skilled, grappler.

Striking is weird and showy, but seems to flummox quite a few competent people.

Sakuraba and Genki are my favorite fighters.

Genki probably would have stopped Lerma with the leg kicks if they kept up after the cuts. Lerma fell over once trying to put weight on the leg and Genki was just landing them at will. Lerma did hurt Genki with a pretty sweet body shot but Genki did a good job getting away from him after that. I didn't noticed Genki running as much as usual, he ran a lot more vs Masato.

imo at that weight it's either jens or genki. I believe both pulver or sudo would beat bang in a mma rematch. But that's an opinion, but nm.

"Chris,
Just curious why you think Genki would beat Yves, Josh, Hermes, or Serra? I guess i don't see the level of competition Genki has faced to be anywhere near the roster Yves or Franca have fought lately."

i'm not talking form, just mainly going by Sudo's ground game especially at the westside championships, he has a style on the ground that i think would baffle most groundfighters, plus to hang with masato for 3 long rounds with messing around, he's a hero. Basically i think Genki Sudo would succeed at most things he tried [/ass_lick]

agreed....

lets see him beat lerma in a boxing match... think about it

top ten.....maybe, top five..........but not #1.

At least not yet.

I will buy any PPV that Genki Sudo is a part of.
