GHK Promotions & Acom-Sports will be hosting the NJ OPEN GRAPPLING CHAMPIONSHIPS IN RAHWAY, NJ. $500 for winners of their absolute division

Time: 8am - 10am weigh ins
Registration: $65 pre-reg, $80 @ the door. $10 for another division (weightclass NOT skill level). $10 for one of the two absolute divisions
Absolute Divisions: 185lbs - Under - $500 for first place winner / 186lbs - Above - $500 for first place winner
Procedural Rules:
01) Single-elimination tourney (1 loss, competitor is out of the Particular competition except for 3rd place
matches).
02) No striking, biting, eye-gouging, pinching, hair pulling, or spitting.
03) Competitors are not allowed to stick fingers in opponent's mouth, ears, or nose.
04) No small joint manipulation.
05) No attacks to groin or front of throat (larynx).
06) Heel hooks and Neck cranks will NOT be allowed in the division A.
07) No slamming from the guard.
08) No slamming from stand-up (Hard takedowns are not considered slams). Slams are with intent to hurt your
opponent and will be grounds for a disqualification. Referee will decide whether or not an illegal slam has been
made. Slams from the guard are not allowed.
09) Intentional stalling while standing, will result in: - 1st time: Warning, - 2nd time: 2 points deduction, 3rd time:
DQ
10) Tapping the mat or your opponent with your hand indicates that you submit.
11) You may also submit verbally to the referee.
12) If you tap out/submit, you lose.
13) Any indication of submission by fighter must be made obvious to the referee.
14) All decisions by the referee are final.
15) Rule violations, intentional fouls, and unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated and may be grounds for
disqualification and a loss.
16) Competitors must supply mouth piece and groin protection.
17) Wrestling shoes are optional.
18) Competitors in no-gi divisions can wear a t-shirt, rashguard or bare-chested, shorts are required (with
drawstrings). Gi pants allowed only in Gi divisions. Rashguards are allowed under Gi top. Competitors in Gi and
no-gi can use opponent's clothing against them.
Experience levels:
Beginner: up to 1 year of grappling training (No wrestler in beginners division)
Intermediate: 1 - 3 years of grappling training
Advanced: More than 3 years of grappling training
Point System:
- Takedowns: 2 points
- Passing the guard: * to side-control = 3 pts / * to full mount = 4 pts
- Sweeps from the guard: 2 points
- Full mount: 4 points
- Rear mount: 4 points (both hooks must be in)
- Mercy Decision: 20 - 0
- Submission Attempt: 1 pt (submission must be locked in)
- Advantages in GI Divisions only
NO GI Rules
Beginners: No submissions below the waist, no neck cranks
Intermediate: No heelhooks, no neck cranks, no toe-holds
Advanced: All submissions are legal
GI Rules
White belts: No submissions below the waist and no neck cranks
Blue belts: No heelhooks, No twisting leg locks and no neck cranks
Purple - Black: No heelhooks and no neck cranks
Kids Rules:
No Submissions / matches will be decided by points - Beginners Divisions
