Giblert suspended two yesrs

USADA violation again.  Gil is legit one of the nicest guys in MMA.  But the little secret nobody likes to talk about is that old school Gracie fighter crew was juiced to the “Gils”.  Jake and Gil VERY guilty of steroids.  It wasn’t all tofu and broccoli like Nick would make you think

Sad. Wasnt he one of the guys who spoke out against steroids many times? Another hypocrite, can't believe anyone

They're all on the juice. Nobodies positive result surprises me.

I laughed when Conor brought it up against Nate and Nate just shut the fuck up.

Didn’t he retire and also get released from the UFC?

The suspension only applies to fights with UFC. He's no longer on the roster. He could sign with Bellator or another promotion.

"Under the terms of this ruling, Melendez is essentially banned from competing in any UFC fights for two years from the start of his suspension. That doesn’t prevent him from signing with another organization, or being booked for a fight by a different promotion."

Damn, how's that gonna look for anyone daring enough to sign him?

Then again, why would anyone at this point?

Bellator could easily sign him and dismiss the USADA thing as being irrelevant. By the time he'd ever fight for them it would be at least a year since his positive test. Bellator would have no reason to honor what amounts to a UFC suspension, rather than a suspension from an AC. USADA doesn't regulate combat sports, so if other jurisdictions are similar to Nevada there'd be no real reason for an AC to restrict his licensing.

His wife occasionally fights for Bellator. He has a previous relationship with Coker. He's got good name recognition. He'd be a decent addition to their promotion, even if no one would seriously consider him a title contender. It would actually be sort of cool to see a fight card that featured Gilbert and his wfie and Paige VanZant and her husband.... like a "Couples Night" card or something.

The positive test was a few weeks after UFC released him. He argued it was a violation because they didn't have jurisdiction so was only suspended for UFC fights
