Nice!
Did the padding on the top of the cage help Israel?
Nm, looks like his head didn’t hit it
Damn, he keeps it tight to his body… Almost hiding how much inside it will land.
Every time AP had Izzy’s back to the cage was
When he did his best work. I was SCREAMING for him to get him there and let the hands fly!!
Pereira the hitman
Kind of blew my mind how careless Izzy was to constantly allow himself to get backed against the fence like that.
Massive strategic mistake.
In the first 2 rounds he was good about grabbing Alex’s hands when he got backed up, but then stopped doing it and tried to play rope-a-dope against the cage.
The they he lands rly shows his striking level
Izzy couldn’t even stand and crybabies are yelling early stoppage…
Alex is very precise with his punches, when he rocked Strickland he landed like 2 or 3 punches right on the money while he was still falling lol
It’s insane that he grazed Izzy bicep on the way and it still had enough power
Almost finishes like an uppercut the way he comes up with it.
Bump, for the beauty of the shot!
AP had the tools that were Izzy’s kryptonite but looking at his whole game I don’t seem him imposing his will like Izzy did with other UFC fighters who won’t play that stand up game with him.
Some interesting times ahead at 185.
This is a good example of matchs ups make fights… he’s perfect for Izzy. But I can see Bobby Knuckles, Derek Brunson, Paulo Costa, etc… giving him real problems.
I was rooting for Alex to shake up the division. Izzy is a brilliant fighter but it makes for boring fights sometimes. Izzy can win every round, shut down his opponent and the fight is boring
This fight lived up to the hype however and Alex did his part to make it epic
That’s why as a match-maker, u want glover to lose again to jiri, so you can set up a champ-champ bout in late spring for jiri/Alex.
Alex has a great chance of beating Jiri. A wrestler will beat him I think.
Bobby will be working on his takedowns hard now!
