Figured this was a Recipe my HG brothers would like....also is a great marinade for boneless Thighs or Breasts on the grill. I use it for my Kabobs, Fish and Veggies as well. Super Easy n Delicious.
Mix Equal Parts Ginger Ale and Shoyu ( 1/4 cup of each) and poor it over the top of the Chicken n Veggies(Brussels n Carrots) in a roasting pan. Then Season with Salt n Pepper and a good Coating of Sesame Seeds. Bake at 375 for about 2 hrs ( depends on the size of the chicken) basting often with the liquid in the pan. Remove the lid for the last 15 minutes and turn the oven up to 425 to get a good brown going.
ENJOY!!
Serve With Tortillas and wrap up little bites of everything with Either Cock Sauce (beep) or Buffalo Wing Sauce.

Awesome Thanks man! I don't drink soda often but when I do, I only do the cane sugar stuff these days. Trying to completely eliminate all HFCS from my diet.

I mean I love you!! Don't ever leave baby.)
You will dig the Reeds, all there kinds are good. Extra Ginger Kind Is real good with some Bombay n a little splash of lime! If your into that kinda thing.
ok fags, I don't follow this whole HFCS thing too closely so let me ask a question...what's the final word on HFCS and why avoid?
The rudimentary understanding I have is that cane sugar can be utilized by the liver in 3 ways:
1) Use for energy
2) convert to triglycerides
3) store as fat
The general understanding of HFCS is that it only leaves the liver with one option:
1) store as fat
So here's where my confusion comes in...as I understand it, cane sugar is 50% glucose and 50% fructose, while fructose is made up of 55% fructose and 45% glucose.
To make things even more confusing, pure corn syrup is 100% gluscose!
Question 1) Given its makeup, why is fructose any different than cane sugar?
2) Shouldn't we be using pure corn syrup which is 100% glucose?
my rudimentary assessment of hfcs's negative impact on me = touch my liver make it go fatty which is precursor to heart, diabetes, and other f'd up shit and we know there IS a correlation between the two AND we know that our government has AMPLE REASON to consume mass amounts of corn products due to the economy = me not trusting that fucked up boosheet.
From my understanding of reading different articles, what you listed as how HFCS is stored in your body is the biggest reason I avoid it. Also, because it's so processed. I've been working pretty hard to eat real whole foods.
I've noticed a difference in my weight when I started to shift my diet, though it could be tied to training more?
@FETT_TFK_El Pescadero - I hear you on the sweet tooth. I like that sweets WAAAAY to much. Working by Diddy Reese kills me...

no hfcs.
BUT...if corn syrup is 100% gluscose, it would be even better for your liver than sugar.
I understand that even if sugar and HFCS is similar in glucose/fructose ratios, that fructose has to be processed to be digestible, and maybe it's this process that makes it inferior to sugar, and why it gives the liver only one option.
However, corn syrup would still be better no? And don't you use corn syrup in some of your marinades? All the more reason now from what I gather.
