Give your round by round scoring for Edgar-Maynard

Here is how I had it after just the initial viewing. I had no dog in this fight as I'm not a huge fan of either fighter.

Round 1: 10-8 Maynard

Round 2: 10-9 Edgar

Round 3: 10-9 Maynard

Round 4: 10-9 Edgar

Round 5: 10-10

I'd appreciate if future posts to this thread have a round by round breakdown rather than blanket statements saying "Gray won", or "Frankie won". Obviously, I had it just barely in favor of Gray, but I'm satisfied with the draw as it was clearly a close fight. The key round might be the 5th, where I felt neither fighter took control of the round. Admittedly, I've only watched the fight once so I'm open to changing my mind upon further viewing. I'd like to hear some unbiased (I have my doubts about this with many on the UG) scorecards and if anyone changed their card after a second viewing. Discuss.

Round 1: 10-8 Maynard
Round 2: 10-9 Edgar
Round 3: 10-9 Maynard
Round 4: 10-9 Edgar
Round 5: 10-9 Edgar

I will have to watch the fight again, but in round 5 I had Maynard landing the only decent stikes in the first minute and last few seconds of the round and Edgar was landing with much more consistancy throughout the rest of the round. Maynard did not fight to win after the 1rst. I thought Edgar was the one who pushed the fight in the last round not Maynard.

Draw, good call

1) 10-7 Gray
2-5)10-9 Edgar
47-46 Edgar

Extreme Lurker - ROUND 1: 10-8 Maynard

ROUND 2: 10-9 Edgar

ROUND 3: 10-9 Maynard

ROUND 4: 10-9 Edgar

ROUND 5: 10-9 Edgar

47-47 DRAW

Rounds 3 and 5 were close. The rest were pretty much clear cut for the scores I posted.
Agreed.

I agree with the draw but it all depended on who you give round 5 to.

Whoever won, it was a close enough fight and there really isn't anyone else to challenge for the belt that I won't mind a rematch.

Round 1: 10-8 Maynard
Round 2: 10-9 Edgar
Round 3: 10-9 Maynard
Round 4: 10-9 Edgar
Round 5: 10-9 Maynard

Is how I scored it, but that 5th round really could have gone either way. So for now I agree with the Draw, but I may change my mind when I re-score it later.

I still hate seeing a draw in a championship fight though.

R1: 10-8 M
R2: 10-9 E
R3: 10-9 M
R4: 10-9 E
R5: 10-9 E

47-47. I thought that 5 was the closest round. But I need to re-watch the 3rd because if Maynard did zero after the take down then I could see Edgar taking the round.

I don't believe take downs are worth anything unless you do something after the take down. Slams and take downs are different in my book.

The stun gun for example did nothing to win tonight. He lost the fight but won two rounds based on control. I am tired of watching fighters win with absolutely no damage dealt and no effort to win or hurt the opponent.

ROUND 1: 10-8 Maynard
ROUND 2: 10-9 Edgar
ROUND 3: 10-9 Maynard
ROUND 4: 10-9 Edgar
ROUND 5: 10-9 Edgar

Draw. Its how I scored it. No way in hell could I give Maynard rd 5 like one of those judges did. Was too close but Frankie was pushing the pace and controlling the action.

RD1: 10-8 Maynard
RD2: 10-9 Edgar
RD3: 10-9 Maynard
RD4: 10-9 Edgar
RD5: 10-10. If I had to pick, it would be Edgar.

48-47 Maynard.

ROUND 1: 10-8 Maynard
ROUND 2: 10-9 Edgar
ROUND 3: 10-9 Maynard
ROUND 4: 10-9 Edgar
ROUND 5: 10-9 Edgar

47-47 DRAW

AS85 - RD1: 10-8 Maynard
RD2: 10-9 Edgar
RD3: 10-9 Maynard
RD4: 10-9 Edgar
RD5: 10-10. If I had to pick, it would be Edgar.

48-47 Maynard.

10-10 in the 5th would make sense to me. But since 10-10 isn't common place I don't consider it an option when judging rounds. I thought Machida and rampage had 10-10 in the 1st and 2nd for their fight that Machida won.

I think 10-10 has to be considered an option just like a 10-7 round is. After all, it IS an option, though uncommon.

10-8 Maynard
10-9 Edgar
10-9 Edgar
10-9 Edgar
10-9 Edgar

I have no problem with the draw, just the way it was arrived at.
I honestly can't see any way Maynard won that 48-46

ROUND 1: 10-8 Maynard
ROUND 2: 10-9 Edgar
ROUND 3: 10-9 Maynard
ROUND 4: 10-9 Edgar
ROUND 5: 10-9 Edgar

47-47 DRAW.

Round 5 Edgar landed a lot of clean combos that didn't hurt Gray. Gray landed one good punch that I can remember.
