Question. I was thinking of buying some ufc gloves off of ebay for my next fight, but then I got to thinking CAN I EVEN WEAR THEM OUTSIDE OF THE UFC?
Depends on the organization. King of the Cage obviously asked us not to wear "UFC" gloves. Smaller shows probably won't care. Some people might call you a "poser" :) There are tons of other good glove companies out there.
They aren't providing you with gloves?
Most jurisdictions require the promoters to provide the gloves for their contests.
It`s pretty common now that the promotion provides the gloves for the fighters. At least in Ca.
Fairtex thumbless NHB gloves. Probably my favorite gloves hands down. Ouanos are shit and the new century ones will probably fall apart after 10 minutes like any of their gear.
Thanks guys, and they probably will provide gloves, but who wants some crappy $13 glove, I want professional shit :D
Hey thrilla - most people agree the fairtex glove is the best MMA glove out there - however, they're expensive.
There aren't as many low cost alternatives to that style as there are to the basic ouano style, but there are a couple.
I did a video review of Cageside MMA's "next generation" glove, which has a lot of features of the fairtex glove. I think its it one of the best lower cost alternatives out there. I'll dig up and post the vid...
WEC,Strikeforce,PFC,GKO all provide Fairtex gloves.
*At least the WEC did before Zuffa purchased them.
breakit - They aren't providing you with gloves?I've never been to a local show in IL or IN that provided their fighters with gloves. Perhaps that will be changing...?
