Don, Ya know I'd like to see Brad get another mma fight because I feel all that san shou training he has been doing has given his game a new edge. I am really impressed at how well he can hit big throws with no gi and wearing boxing gloves to boot. In san shou they stand you back up after a missed throw whereas in mma you probably will end up in a disadvantageous position but the more you train the throws the less likely that becomes a fact. Along with that comes confidence in the throw so as to open it up with them in mma and it diminishes the doubt. Garcia has his throw down in mma whereas he does not forfeit position and I feel Brad can do the same now.
I feel bad I could not provide an adequate answer to his question last Sunday on how to circumvent that particular defense when the dude's back is to the ropes. The correct answer would be a big plus for any involved in mma, san shou or any other sport contested in a ring or cage that allows throws/takedowns.
There ain't no doubt that this fight is gunna be balls to the walls ala Hearns/Hagler & Frazier/Quarry
for a couple of rounds.

Garcia called last night about 1 a.m. and advised he and Gardner both won via decision.
Garcia asked me to tell the droogies that he hit some beautiful throws throughout his fight.
Garcia stated that Gardner hit Clementi with a sweet Ishikawa standing ude roll.
Way to go droogies! The belt stays on the wall of the dojo. Props to Gomez for running a strong camp.
