Wrinkle - While thats a good breakdown of the fight I do see one factor while I think plays in Gomi's Favor. He was outclassed in the Florian fight but i don't think that's gonna be the case here, if he is put on his back i think that's gonna frustrate him and make him moe hugry for the KO. I'm looking back to the Azaredo fight which leads me to believe he could score a second or third round KO.
Interesting point. Gomi is a pretty inconsistent fighter and the bulk of evidence that would sway me to think he'll pick up a late victory comes from fights that occurred in 05-06.
That KO of Griffin was no joke though; Gomi definitely proved that he is still one of the more dangerous fighters at 155 pounds. Griffin threw what seemed to be a lazy leg kick and paid the price dearly. Guida likes to fire off those same types of kicks sometimes.
I think this fight will answer a lot of questions we have about Gomi. Guida is fantastic at helping us answer questions about his opponents.

Guida is a taylor made oppoenent for Gomi to beat. The only threats to Gomi are super submission guys (Florian, Auerrllio, Penn, Diaz).
When he fights crazy guys who brawl and are aggressive he usually wins. Guida has awful stand up, and will NOT submit Gomi. This is classic Gomi sprawl and brawl and I see Guida getting Ko'ed for the first time.
First, let me say, I REALLY want Gomi to do well in the UFC and I can't stand Guida so I obviously would love to see Clay get Fireballed. However, Gomi's cardio has been spotty at times and he can NOT run out of gas against Guida; he's a cardio monster.
Hopefully he brings all his tools to the fight and gets Clay out of there.
