Going to Manila and Palawan in July

Will ISIS get me in Palawan?

There's a current travel advisory to watch out for kidnappers.

I'm not concerned about Manila as much as I am about Palawan.

Is anybody up to speed with everything that's going on there?

I'm a huge white guy. Maybe they will think I'm worth something or cut my head off.

I went there last year with my gf and it was awesome. Very beautiful. Can't really say about how dangerous it is though.

Were you in Palawan?

Yup we went on some water tours around the different islands over there. Honestly it didn't feel dangerous at all.

stay in the northern parts and you'll be fine. Where are you planning to go in Palawan?

Sabang Beach, Puerto Princesa City

relevant to my interest.

i gotta go to manila and boracay in January for my kid sister's wedding.  I am a colored folk, so if you (white devil) make it back safely, then I should be in good shape.

Are you going there as a sex tourist?

I love Boracay. I'll be there too.

Last time I went was in April 2014. The humidity was too much. July will be hot but it's rainy season. Meaning it's just not as hot. Doesn't rain overly more than other times of the year.

So much to do.

If you're taking your wife on a second honeymoon then I think that counts as sex tourism.

Last time I went I was treated like a god.

In most places if they see you as a Westerner over there, they love you.

If I went as a single guy I'd probably never come back.

There has been warnings of ISIS moving into Visayas including Palawan and Cebu and they already were found in Bohol. The risk is extremely low in any of those places though and it wouldn't dissuade me from going. Stay away from the southern parts of Mindanao and be cautious there in general (ie. Davao) simply due to proximity.

You'll be fine anywhere in Manila- but the enjoyment of your trip will depend on where exactly you will be staying (and visiting). There is always the risk of a terrorist attack- same as any other big city though I do think it is a bit elevated here.

I'm a white guy and been in Manila for 10 years+ and the most dangerous thing has been typhoons and ex-girlfriends. I'd probably take my chances with ISIS over some of the exes though.

Watch out for ISIS!

I was born in the PI. Lived there until 8 years of age. The last place I would want to be is in the PI in the middle of July. No thank you to that humidity and smog.
