Dear UG!
I'm mostly lurking, but a regular reader of the forums and a sports fan with quite an interest in MMA.
This fall, I'll finally get to see an UFC event, in the Mecca of mixed martial arts events, at the Mandalay Bay, for the Weidman card.
Flights are booked, and I'll get to enjoy the show with my brother.
I'm posting to ask you guys for tips on the best way to get tickets for this event at the Mandalay Bay. Is there a possibility of simply not getting tickets because the interest in the event can be big, or is that not an issue in Las Vegas?
I'm looking forward to any feedback you can help with.
Thanks in advance!
I asked the same thing the other day on here, the few who replied said the best way to get tickets is to sign up for the UFC newsletter to get the pre-sale code which will let you buy tickets the day before they go on sale to the public.
If you join the UFC fight club thing you get a presale code for 2 days before they go on sale to the public, but apparently the tickets released through this are often quite limited and not the best prices/seats when you can get better seats for the same price using the newsletter presale.
Vegas could be a different animal altogether though.
Thanks Zebers.
Are you also going to Vegas for UFC 181?
Guys, please help this ticket ignorant Scandinavian out.
I'm sure there is a ton of people that have a great strategy for this.
Nah, won't be there for that one. I'm heading to a fight night in October, though. But I'm also interested to know what it's like getting tickets for a big Vegas event.
Apart of the ticket question, It'd be interesting to read what you guys think of the Mandalay Bay for UFC cards. Is it the best place in Vegas? Pros and cons? Things to consider?
When trying to sign up for the newsletter, I get the following error: "zipCode in class com.zuffa.common.NewsletterAddress cannot be null".
Also, can the newsletter code in general be used to buy two tickets, or would we need two subcriptions?
You can buy up to 8 tickets using the Newsletter code.
Thank you very much! Now I only need to be able to sign up. Going to try a different mailprovider.
How long before an event is the promotion code typically released? Is getting tickets a potential issue or just a formality?
The email gets sent out two days before the on-sale. I usually post the code in the ticket thread though.
We're having some technical issues with signing up right now so try again tomorrow.
You seem to be well oriented in the matter. Thanks for taking the time to help.
I was able to sign up going via the contact us page.
How high would you think the demand for Vegas cards is? Should getting tickets via the newsletter code in general be doable?
It varies from card to card.
Would you mind linking me to the aforementioned ticket thread? I wasn't able to find it via google.
I understand from some other threads that came up that you actually work for the UFC with ticketing?
Really nice to have you here, and to react so promptly to the thread.
The UFC 181 ticket thread hasn't been created yet.
Got it. Thanks again!
