Golf is really annoying to watch.

I only watch the majors and bigger tournaments these days and I'm not sure I watch at all last year.

Anyway, the clowns trying to yell something witty to get on the air after every single tee shot makes it much less enjoyable. I vaguely remember the "in the hole" getting louder and louder years ago but yesterday was ridiculous and completely stupid.

Is this a thing now? Does this happen at all pro golf tournaments these days?

Golf is mind numbing. This goes for both televised golf, and playing yourself.

I have been to panel talks at trade events that were more amusing.

The whispering by the announcers puts me to sleep.

"in the hole guy" is the most annoying person in sports (other sayings as well)

however i will admit i laughed at the guy that yelled Dilly dilly after one shot yesterday.

also laughed at the one guy who yelled something obnoxious at D Johnson and then after it quieted down another guy yelled "sorry DJ this idiot isn't with us"

Oh man ... I LOVE going out for a 3+ hour ride then coming home, big meal, beer, put on golf and nap until the final pairing has about 3 holes left.

Yesterday I was couch bound so I watch more than I've seen in years and the yelling was obnoxious and 0% funny.

You had a pretty epic ride.

Cheers man.

My post ride TV go to is ID Discovery.

True crime is my vice.

Why the fuck do the announcers whisper? They aren't there at each hole.

Cycling races are the very definition of excitment.

The "in the hole guy" has been replaced my the "mashed potato's guy"

The crowd at Shinnecock was worse than most crowds. If you don’t want to hear annoying spectators, the Masters is really the best crowds.

The crowd was dominated by a bunch of drunk Wall Street guys.

Just about everyone had tents, and invites were getting thrown without hesitation.

The only shout out that's ever been remotely funny was "Yeah player" at the US open a few years back

Yep. Booze and an already overwhelming sense of entitlement results in those crowds

Those guys suck.

Driving ranges and trying to wreck golf carts are both fun.

The rest of golf can suck its own pretentious ass.

The whole “in the holeeee” thing is exclusive to America. It’s Americans being American. And yes, it’s fucking annoying, especially on the tee shot of a par 5
