GOP States Has Fewer Covid Cases, Deaths

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/07/14/gop-run-coronavirus-hotspots-tx-fl-have-fewer-cases-deaths/

The two hardest-hit states by the coronavirus as of Tuesday evening, Democrat-run New York and California, are not getting the same level of negative attention by the leftist mainstream media as the GOP-governed hotspots of Florida and Texas, which have lower deaths and cases.

Although the ongoing spike in cases and, to a lesser, extent a rise in deaths, has spared New York, the sheer number of infections and fatalities in NY and surge-impacted California exceed those in Florida and in Texas, respectively.

....

The cases in California are about 20 percent higher than in Florida and Texas, respectively. California deaths are nearly double those from Florida and Texas.

In New York, where the pandemic appears to be under control, infections are about 50 percent higher than in Florida and Texas.

Fatalities in New York are more than 600 percent higher than those in Florida and more than 800 percent larger than those in Texas.

Que Nate Diaz lolol... I'M NOT SUPRISED MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!

Can someone do or post a breakdown of cases/deaths per capita for these states? I'd like to know, but am at work, and am looking at fitness models on Instagram.

Definitely noticed that, and when I've pointed it out, certain people here have lost their minds.

its 2020, feelings literally carry more weight than facts

the world is a clownshow.

by world, I mean the US

They have a point. Tone makes a big difference too. If you adopt a grave tone you will get better press.

great job, GOP!

Yeah the media coverage during this whole ‘pandemic’ has been absolutely disgusting. Really gross.

so you dont have to destroy your local economy to manage this virus?

The states with the highest populations:

California, Texas, Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois

You mean to say that the states with most people have the most cases?  Wild.

First, the curves for each state are changing as the virus spreads throughout the country.  For the numbers the OP is posting to have any kind of validity, the virus would need to have spread in all states at the exact same time.   That's not the case.

Second, do you have a breakdown of the political affiliation of the people who have been infected and the people who have died?  If republicans are somehow immune to it as a result of their reckless behavior, those numbers would be very interesting.  You'd see a higher number of democrats infected and dead in areas in which the population is predominantly republican.

So, what exactly is the point OP is trying to make?  Did he just feel like making a random pointless thread or is there some point to it?

it is a fair point that there is a lot of focus on arizona, florida and texas while california is also pretty bad. it is not as simple as quick opening = only reason for spikes.

but, also to be fair, if you were to rank the states in terms of how bad the problem is currently, california would be behind those states.

comparing the raw number of cases/deaths in states when one state has double the population of the other as the article in the OP did is about as disingenuous as it gets.

I did. I’ve seen more coverage about NY than any other state. Cuomo’s briefings were on every morning when their numbers were the highest. Are we saying that they didn’t get coverage?
