2 years to prepare for this fight is a bit of a stretch
The thread title is misleading; he is criticising his coach's strategy and preparation.
Kavanaugh is on the money
This guy has never fought MMA. If and when he does, it’ll be against a sacrificial lamb. Most of the shit he does in No-Gi would get him killed in a real fight. I’m no Conor fan, but this guy is talking shit without having set foot in the cage ever. Conor isn’t a ground guy. You could resurrect Hélio Gracie to teach him and his Jiu-Jitsu would still suck.
Gordon Ryan should know better, he hangs out with mma guys. I think he knows some anyhow

Qft
Most of the time you guys don’t understand the actual angles on display.
Gordon Ryan has beef with Dillon Danis. This is an extension of that, correct or not.

absolutely. gordon would have the same opinion but would be much less likely to put them on blast if dillon wasn’t conors bjj sme
Usada would put Gordon in a similar position and no amount of bjj would save him
And that’s before he actually gets punched in the face
anunaki -Usada would put Gordon in a similar position and no amount of bjj would save him
usada would force gordon to work on waiting it out after being taken down rather than working on escaping? how so?
in a sense, the strategy actually worked… conor had a whole round (3rd) with khabib standing… he hadn’t taken much damage up to that point… conor just couldn’t take advantage of it and didn’t look that much better than khabib did standing… conor has become one dimensional always looking for the straight left…

Conor took a beating there. He was tired in the 3rd. Khabib stood right in front of him and even slapped him lol.
that’s true… he did take some shots in the second, but not enough, imo that he shouldn’t have had enough to do his own damage, in a standing contest, in the 3rd…

He stuffed multiple takedowns and won the stand up exchanges. All 3 judges scored it for Mac in the 3rd. Don’t be stupid.
That said, it was an awful strategy. 2 years is a long time to prepare to conserve energy.

I think it was a much Khabib's strategy to rest up on the takedowns during the 3rd round and save it up to finish the fight strong.... Basically 10mins of takedowns/GnP.. A break...and 10 more mins of GnP.
As far as his mma bjj... The guy that just mounted and destroyed Josh Barnett and finished a guy that big with a triangle after going through the rest of that team's lineup? The guy that just RNC'd Craig Jones And the same guy that recently guillotine Keenan? All in nogi...
Also everyone of us has an opinion on these fighters' ground game. Ryan's is entitiled to one as much as anyone. And I agree that some of this is an extension of the tension between him and Danis.

Youre an idiot. Hes one of the best guard passers and has some of the best back control in the game , you dont know what youre talking about.
Hes criticizing Conors game plan, not his BJJ.

lol. Yes, the result says so.
Gordon is good at jiu jitsu & playing footsies, I get it. I just don’t like how he comes off. For the shit he talks on Dillon he often comes off the exact same.

You sell Conor short. Higher level athletes generally pick up skills a bit faster than most. Conor is a very high level athlete.
