Much respect to those evil eyes in the sky, because I can't fly worth a shit.
The hd cam will come in handy as a black box for the inevitable destructive crash.
If you got one, let me know how you destroyed yours.
And they said thousands of drone strikes and billions in research wouldn't benefit America. Guess again, the proof is in my Christmas dinner bloated hands. Thanks, Obama.
Sick, what kind and you got any pics? Been looking to pick one up for our videos
My dad got one.. waiting to hear how his goes down
Did it come with a Hellfire missile or is that sold separately?
It is a Hubsan x4. It can't be worth more than $50-100, as it was a gift from my college-aged brother.
I can fly it around a room, but have difficulty hovering or maintaining elevation. It devolves into fast corrective action and 4 tiny blades of fury flying at people's faces.
No weapons systems. For now.
Go get a video of Craig's mums Bush!
I'm now ready for video, and approaching weapons systems.
I can fly around a 150x70 field with ease, while perched on my back deck. I can "land" (gradual lift decrease) into my own hand on return journeys.
The downside is I flew over my house, and wind took me to 100'--I tried to drop power, and on the return trip, clipped a branch at 50'. The fall cracked all 4 wings, or at least popped them out of place. I haven't seen any change in flight ability, but I'm wary of future flights so close to the sun.
Much more fun, now that I've figured out their terrible instruction manual.
In for pics of the hot neighbor taking a shit.
I have one of those minus the camera. Trick is everytime you put the battery in to fly you should recalibrate the gyro. It should on power up but I still do everytime anyways.
Put battery in. Set on flat surface. Left stick push down and right. Right stick move left and right very quickly until lights blink. Good to go.
It took me a long time to get the hang of it. I really do suggest flying outside on a calm day before trying indoors. So much prop wash when you get close to an object that it goes nuts.
Have fun. Careful flying close to people's faces. Have gotten a few paper cuts from those little blades.
Got my little brother one and now I want one. Think I want a really nice one though.
How far can they fly away from you before losing reception/radio control/whatever the correct terminology is?
Its the only thing I wanted but people suck with presents
HefX - How far can they fly away from you before losing reception/radio control/whatever the correct terminology is?
Mine is lightweight and only cost $70, so I believe wind is a major risk for turbulence and loss of control.
I flew at least 120' away, and flew back to catch it in my hand, all from a set position.
I did perceive a delay in reaction time the farther away I got, but vision and response time would also be altered. I saw no mention of distance, but I wouldn't expect to fly much farther than 100-150.
Ghost of Corvelay -I see. So I couldn't use it to survey across town and see when the guy down the street has his nasty dog outside. Bummer.HefX - How far can they fly away from you before losing reception/radio control/whatever the correct terminology is?

Anyone able to give me a good model name I can get for 1-200$? Ton of wind here but I could get great pics with a sturdy device.
HefX,
I'm not saying you can't, but I'm not that kind of pilot, and not with this product.
Choadler,
Check Amazon for the top-sellers with the highest rating in your range. You probably want a closed-style quadcopter, which would be much larger than my open blade hummingbird of doom.

I am thinking about selling my 350X and buying one of these.

Took it straight outside to show my daughters how it could go as high as our house and got it stuck in a tree. As far as I know it's still up there.
