I wouldn't lose any sleep if they made it legal
Smaller cage holes IMO.
Purgey -D.A. -This. If it stops a TD deduct a point and start the fighter who grabbed the fence on bottom in full guard.
Too many warnings, not enough punishment.
Insta-fixed.
Electrocute the fence, imo.
I a fighter grabs the fence their opponent should have the option to start re-start the fight on the ground within the guard.
If*
Card - Magalhaes stops a takedown... and now Phan. They should just allow it. If the cage can be used to Assist in takedowns, holding, top control, and defending subs, then why not allow grabbing it?
tenchu -I use to think it should be 1warning then a point deduction. Or just immediate point deduction.D.A. -
Too many warnings, not enough punishment.
But if we'rd gonna be objective we must realize that cage assisted takedowns, cage assisted sub defense, cage assisted holding, is no better than cage assisted takedown defense
Thacommish - Benavidez grabs fence and not 1 care is given!
LOL damn, beat me to it. It's such an epidemic that people grab the fence while unconscious.
The solution is to go full fucking "Lionheart" and have them fight in a plexiglass raquetball court.
If it stops a takedown, can't they start them on the ground?
Rob San Soo - If it stops a takedown, can't they start them on the ground? If the cage assists a takedown can they be restarted on the feet
kingkoopa -I like to see that lolRob San Soo - If it stops a takedown, can't they start them on the ground? If the cage assists a takedown can they be restarted on the feet
LyotoBundy - Could they make the fence links smaller? It's a balance between visibility outside the cage and surface to grab, if the links were too small for fingers it would be quite different looking in on the cage
It can't be helped its an auto instinct
Card -hellride - should be 1 warning then a point. no exeptions
That would be nice.
Would be better, but I'd prefer instant point deduction. The benefits of stopping even one takedown can be huge.
Piyo -Aldo-Mendes is a good example of thatCard -hellride - should be 1 warning then a point. no exeptions

Warning for a grab, instant point deduction if it clearly effects the out come of the situation.

Rashad/Tito 1
Forrest/Shogun 1
The Forrest/Shogun fence grab was the most insane, blatant case of "cheat to win" I ever saw, and Forrest completely got away with it. Shogun was attempting a TD, Forrest grabbed and held the fence to defend, landed on top of Shogun, got the RNC and won the fight. At that point in the 3rd, it would have been a safe bet to assume that had Shogun completed the TD he would have won the round and the fight.
I'm in the "grab the fence, lose a point" club. Take a point EVERY SINGLE TIME. It's on the referees to address this.
