When Anthony Pettis was injured and had to withdraw from his UFC 163 bout with Jose Aldo, he actively campaigned to be put in a lightweight title bout a month after that scheduled bout. However, TJ Grant was already granted the title shot and was not too happy about Pettis' actions:

"I wish it was handled a little differently; him of all people, I think it was disrespectful, to do that against someone who has earned the right to fight is not right."

"Unfortunately he got hurt but it was low class, I thought. I didn't want to get into the whole talking thing. I got here legitimately and earned it. Ultimately, what he was saying was that he wanted my title shot which was incredibly disrespectful. It was pretty dirty."

"He's 26 years old and hes a great fighter I think he'll be a champion one day, but this is my time right now."

"It's in the past now: He's out, I'm in. It's going to be a series of little battles in a big battle against Benson Henderson. He's the man, and I want to beat the man and be champion. It's what I've always wanted."

Chaelismyhero - I like TJ a lot.

Him and Anthony should fight after Grants beats Benson.

I think TJ would go all beast mode on Pettis and tko him.

Bwaaaahahahahahahahaha

Thanks bro I needed that :D

Benson will beat Grant but Pettis especially would clown the fuck out of him Phone Post

Ill bump this thread after TJ beats Benson.

Benson is chinny. Edgar dropped him a couple of times.

TJ would maul Pettis. Well actually they would never fight, because Pettis cant stay healthy for more than 15 minutes.

Tj is cool but Pettis would tko him.. Phone Post

I am not sure TJ beats Bendo, but I feel like he could grapplefuck Pettis. I know I would love to see him and Pettis fight no matter who takes it.

Grant beats Pettis 100% Phone Post 3.0

chaelismyhero has a hard on for white North American males (TJ Grant, Chael Sonnen, Stipe Miocic), so of course he thinks Grant would TKO Pettis (lol)

Grant is gonna smash both of them.

I LOVE GSP - Grant is gonna smash both of them.

TJ has a jaw made out of fucking steel. He would grapple fuck the shit out of Anthony Pettis.

Remember the Guida fight?

Like I said earlier the fight probably wouldn't happen because Pettis would pull out like he always does. Nothing against Pettis, I just think if you sign a contract to fight you should honor it by fighting.

Cant honor a fight with an injury. You think he wouldve backed out if he could fight? Hell no. Thats a title fight. Phone Post

I can't see Pettis ever getting grapplefucked again. He has sick jits and he spent three rounds trying to catch Guida, lost that "fight" and admitted he'd made a huge mistake. I think if he was on bottom and couldn't catch a sub, he'd eventually just focus on getting back to his feet these days. Phone Post

Possibly correct. I disagree but that is why the fight should happen!

Am I thinking of the same TJ Grant? The failed welterweight? Phone Post

He will take Pettis down and smash him Phone Post 3.0

ttt.

If the guy in charge didn't make low-class decisions, fighters wouldn't have to worry about these things, but he does.

So that automatically means he loses at LW?

There is no logic in your comment, it's irrelevent how he did at WW. Do I have to point out BJ Penn and Nate Diaz as two examples? Guys that have done great at LW, not so much when they went up.

Having said that Pettis would be a tough fight for Grant as will Bendo. But give the guy some respect.
