I think it missed the mark badly. A lot of errors, a lot of myths passed along as fact, and a lot of important folks left out.

Good article. He just doesn't seem concerned with facts, especially if they get in the way if a good story. How does a guy who has written stories on GSP and Anderson Silva not know how long an MMA round is? It's not three minutes!

Or claiming that early Judo was all about flashy throws and had no submissions! One of the subs he mentions as banned in Judo was one of their original basic techniques! Phone Post 3.0

Excellent points. I don't know how anyone with knowledge of BJJ in MMA today can read the Grantland piece and not think the writer was lazy.
