it looks like the guy he's rolling with is a black belt (can't tell cause it's dark...) does anyone understand Portuguese?
the other vids i've seen here of him they were rolling very cooperatively- this looks more like regular 'semi competitive' rolling.
Cool vids, especially the first one. It's cool to see guys so skilled that they can handle much larger brown/black belts. I'd like to see a current video of Rickson or Liborio or Rigan rolling with good guys in a relaxed atmosphere like that. I find it much more helpful than watching competition footage.
forgive my ignorance, but who is boca? boca is de la riva's partner in the first vid?
de la riva and his student/manager boca have some of the sickest bjj available. I have trained several times with both of them.
"Boca" is Moacir Oliveira, DLR black belt and his manager as shorty pointed out. Boca is a beast and DLR is a wizard.
is that who dlr is rolling with in the first vid?
no, according to the video it is "murrumba". I don't know who he is.
This is boca in the red. He has many matches on youtube.

is it boca or "murrumba" in the first vid? is murrumba a name or what does it mean?
Murrumba is the guy in the first video. It means fat, like an elephant, according to my friend that trains used to train with him.
so then it's not boca? lol. one's saying it is, the other is not. what is murrumba's name?
anyway, de la riva is amazing, if you've ever rolled with him post here. it's like rolling with a monkey made out of smoke.
1)it seems impossible to hold a position on him or put any pressure on him, he is able to reposition himself to take all of your leverage away.
2)his feet and hands are a)huge, which is weird lol b)very strong, his feet are like hands and he has great grip strength in his hands
3)it seems all of his joints are immune to joint locks
4)he has a sick depth of knowledge in seemingly every position.
