The fight should have been stopped about halfway through that. He was basically out. He didn't need to eat an additional 18 shots or so.

I counted 16 shots he took after I thought it should have been stopped. The cage was the only thing keeping him on his feet. He must have been hit with 30 punches during that flurry

Herb gave Renen every chance, good stoppage. Maybe he could have stopped it a few punches sooner, but Im sure the fighters would prefer a tad bit late, than early. Especially in a title fight.
