I've seen vastly worse lay and pray in Pride with no booing.

It seemed like the crowd embraced the "normal" UFC crowds and wanted to emulate them.
They were chanting, going crazy yelling and cheering, and generally trying their best to be the loud mouth redneck idiots we all are. :-P
They were still much more quiet.
The BEST part of the Japanese crowd, even at this UFC is taht they CHEERED every fighter who won at the end. Even Bader. THAT is respect. Even in the prelims when Mizugaki didn't get the nod, the crowd ended up cheering for the winner as they should. Respect is strong there. We (USA) should take notes.
