Greatest Athlete of All-Time: Phil Taylor

Easy pick.

Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, and Jack Nicklaus are all right there as possible honorable mentions.

But none of them were on quite the same level for as long a time as Phil Taylor.

LOL... I had a boss from England who used to talk about Phil "The Power" Taylor!

Great boss, but man, there is NOTHING less interesting than hearing someone explain how a particular darts match went down.

Nah...if you use the word "athlete" then you need to be good in more then one sport

Phil Taylor was good at Darts and only that

Guys like Bo Jackson - Deon Sanders - Jim Brown - Carl Lewis got it down in more then one sport

If it's ain't one of those 4 then they ain't close

Stro - There has never been anything like this game 6 NBA Finals.

Phil Taylor was one shot away from three 9 darters in a televised match.

That's way more impressive than beating Utah in a finals.

Everybody used to beat Utah.

Your former boss sounds like a pretty cool dude.

Where can I get an application?

We'll just go in, talk darts all day, and not do any work.

Did you just include a golfer in your list of greatest athletes? Was that on purpose? Phone Post 3.0

Yes, Jack Nicklaus.

He's won 18 major championships.

Nicklaus also came in second 19 times and in third 9 times.

That's twice as many top-3 finishes as the next best player, Tiger Woods.

Phil "The Power" Taylor has 16 World Championships.

The next best players, Eric Bristow and Raymond van Barneveld, only have five each.

Michael Jordan only has six championships.

That's not even tops in his own sport.

Jordan was good but Phil Taylor was by far the superior athlete.

Was he black? Phone Post 3.0

Just looked him up. LoL Phone Post 3.0

Phil Taylor in action destroying an opponent.

Phil Taylor strutting his stuff during a match.

Phil Taylor being attacked by a lustful woman.

This is the calibre of opposition Phil Taylor had to face:

He would easily walk into the NFL with this kind of 'freak athleticism'...

Good point squatdog.

That's quite a mountain of a man to have to go up against.

Unlike wresting or MMA, there are no divisions or weight limits in darts.

i agree with the Dean.

in sports there are sometimes people who are even better then good. Phil Tayor is that guy.

it has been said that before a match Phil was practesing the bullseye. he threw 10 darts after each other in the red bull!

that said, i dont think Phil would have won so many championchips if you compare todays competetion to 15 years ago. PDc was just starting and there were not that many great players in PDC if compared to now.

but even back then Phil was a menace.

also i am a big fan of sports overall, but there is no sports that can be as exciting as darts. therefor i think Darts is also now the fastest growing sports. every year more tournaments come.

also i wonder who is going to take this weeks grandprix.

and what happened to lewis? it is like michael ven gerwen took his soul that last worldchampionchip and he has not recovered since then.

I thought this was about Phil Taylor from Motörhead Phone Post 3.0

LOL@Andy Fordham.

van Gerwen seems to be the player that will surpass Taylor.

I definitely think it's probably a mental issue with Lewis.

I think Chisnall takes him out in the first round tomorrow night.

Fordham had more raw God given athleticism, but The Power had the skill. Phone Post 3.0

Phil Taylor is GOAT no doubt, honourable mention to Ronnie O'Sullivan Phone Post 3.0

^^^Is Osullivan better than Stephen Hendry ? I don't think so.
